I've heard from the grapevine that the Santa Fe is overengineered, and that Hyundai is losing money just the manufacture it. I guess it's one way to penetrate the market and built trust on the brand.

Hooray for Hyundai! and good for the consumer!

I like the Sante Fe, but biased ako sa ladder frame type SUVs.

Guys, any update on the fuel consumption of the V6 & CRDi variants of the Santa Fe?

My brother/father is going to buy one this April (after convincing them - hehe). It's basically a toss up between the two variants since they are not that convinced with the Everest (since it'll be used mainly for city & highway driving).

    Thanks!

HIFI: so it's the same case as Bugatti Veyron? hehe. ANyway, there's nothing overengineered in the car. I honestly think it's what one should get for the money.

no idea sa V6 ser, but sa CRDI, i now i can get 10-12km/l mix na yon. highway i get 12-15km/l 90-120kph. kung ihahataw mo siempre baba ng konti, but still very descent.
btw , di ko pa ntatry sa pure city kasi asa probinsya ako ngayon, at paminsanminsan lang sa manila.

my 2.2 CRDi averages 8km/liter. that's pure city driving, Ortigas, Makati, Eastwood, Cubao, C5.

pero napakatipid nya for long travel, 400km run Manila to Manoag, Pangasinan to Manila. almost nangalahati ang fuel gauge from full tank.
my computation is in the 10km/liter range pag pure long-drive. hataw ito ha averaging 100+km/hr

Not a reliable source ang info ko, but nevertheless, the Sante Fe speaks for itself.

The Japanese, especially Toyota is not ignoring the fact that Korean made automobiles are beginning to emerge as a major threat.

Toyota's IMV project is actually a pre-emptive move to against the Koreans. So far both are still sluging it out, and both are holding there grounds well. Naging kawawa tuloy ang mga Kano.

no wonder parang sulit na sulit ang feeling namin sa Hyundai na ito. at 1.5M, it's engineered like a 2M+ car.

compared to my dad's company issued 2M+ Ford Explorer EB, halos pareho lang riding insulation, convenience and luxury niya.

mahirap ang HID pag rainy season, doubly hard when it raining at night. This option is available on our MZ3R, kung wala yun standard fog lights and hi beam i would be driving blind but on ordinary situations ok na ok sya. pogi pa yun HID
