Tested the Sta Fe, just this afternoon. Things that I observed.
*Engine noise is louder than the Tucson's CRDi but you can feel the power almost instantaneously, unlike in the Tucson.
*I cant seem to operate the horn. You got to hit it hard in the center for it to function.
*Foot operated parking brake, which I'm not used to.
*Side mirrors has a bit too much magnification so faraway vehicles look too close even if they are not. This made me dizzy. The Tucson's mirrors are also like this.Last edited by number001; March 31st, 2007 at 10:42 PM. Reason: Added some more observations

Pre, on my meticulous observation, mas maingay nga ng konti yung Tucson lalo na when flooring it. Other than that, wala nakong ma-say sa performance ng engine, suspension, space etc. yeah!
On the Tucson, medyo hirap pumick-up yung power & torque (pansin ko mabigat body pati), pero paglagpas ng 40kph, then you're on, drivability is good enough too!
+1 on the horn. = DAMN ang hirap pindutin, ang tigas, ang hina!
+1 on the driver's side, side mirror = nakakahilo at nakakalito nga yun!
+1 on the foot brake = I like it for a change... but it's dangerous if you stepped it unnoticely or accidently (I've almost stepped on it while mobilizing my left limb & foot to change a more comfotable position, tsk tsk!). So giving an attention, awareness or maybe caution is crucial.
However, I really like the response of that torquey engine, you'll be taken back from the seat. So smooooth, so subtle, so refined as you hit it w/o ANY hesitations like a V6 or V8 powertrain, and the CVT, you can't even feel it's changing from gear to gear. And when I was about to U-turn (Macapagal), I've got the chance and manage to cruise about 110+ kph (w/ 5 passengers including the Hyundai personnel) in an instant on a very short road w/o any worries and compromises,.. ayuuuus! (Partida pa, 4th gear palang yun, I forgot that it has 5-speed pala, hehe!)
More on, is a/c is great, and fairly accomodated at the 3rd row seat via rear a/c vents. And for the 3rd row, above 5'3" or so will have to sit sidewards bcoz of the minimized leg room. Well for kids and shorter pipol, it wouldn't be a problem.
What I don't like for a P1.5M+ CRDi is that it has only a driver's side airbag, so I thought it has about 6, (+ side + curtain, based on Motioncars.com). So supposedly, better if it has 4 man lang sana. (dual + side)...ba't ganun!!!
Regardless on the airbag, overall, I like this Korean ride that they made a better milestone on its' SUV/CUV segment (including Tucson), and it is fairly competing w/ those Hapon mid-sizes SUV's! My all praises to you, Ms. Sta Fe!Last edited by rayban7g; April 1st, 2007 at 12:30 AM.

That's because Tucson doesn't have a turbocharger. SantaFe has a VGT.

I rarely use the horn when I'm driving the Sta Fe. other cars seem to give way to me so that they can take a good quick look of the car.
