I've always wanted a sports car ever since I was a kid. But there's really a lot of things coming in to my mind. Specifically, safety. I rarely see sports car on my town, and I think it will attract a lot of bad people lol. Anw, I'm going to book a test drive for RS Turbo to see if its the one for me. Again, thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it.
    Town?

Are you anywhere near a wide and open roads like nlex, slex, sctex, tplex, startoll?(i dont condone street racing, but, yeah. Lol.) If yes, then go for mustang or camaro and the likes. Sarap ng sunday runs, midnight runs, etc...

If not, 86/brz/RS na lang, set it up for canyon carving duties and have fun with it.

I'm planning to buy my first car. I used to drive our family car before but I really wanted a car of my own. In a few months, I'll be able to purchase the new ***y Honda Civic RS Turbo. However, I saw 2nd hand cars on this particular website and there were 2010-2013 Chevy Camaro that is on sale for about 2m. Ford Mustangs as well. There are tons of Toyota 86 or Subaru BRZ, 2010-2014 model as well, which is cheaper compared to the price tag of Civic RS Turbo. All well mantained and low milage.

I just want to ask if it's worth it to buy a 2nd hand luxury/sports(idk what to call them) car?? Or should I stick with the RS Turbo?

I don't know how much is the annual maintenance cost of the 2nd hand cars that I mentioned, like gas, insurance, etc.

If anyone can enlighten me with this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
As a first car, just go for the Civic.

Muscle cars and Jap sports cars are more expensive to maintain and more difficult to live with on a daily basis.

Where will you fit your friends and groceries in an 86? What will you do about the low ground clearance when it comes to humps and potholes?

The Civic RS is a practical all-rounder with performance that can match an 86 and would be better suited for someone like you who's buying a car for the first time.

Naglaho na parang bula un SA na kausap ko. Pinafollowup ko n dn sa Customer Service nila pro wla p dn. My golly, sira buong xmas break plans ko!! And to think of it na holiday na naman sa government sa Jan2 so Jan3 pa earliest na release nun. Ilan araw na lang eh 1month checkup n nde ko man lng nagamit ng maayos!

Grabeh what a nightmare doing business with that dealership!

Do you think it's still possible to cancel the PO from the bank? Balak ko ng isoli tong unit. Sobrang frustrated tlg ko sa kanila!!
Dapat di mo muna kinuha sa kanila yung unit hanggang wala pa or/cr. Ganyan ginawa ko at presto 1 week lang binigay nila. Yung SA nila pinipilit din akong ilabas kahit walang or/cr pero di ako bumigay.

    I walk to work.

That 3km is my kid's school run. I can't bike her to school because her school is down the National Highway, and that's a dangerous bike in traffic, especially with a pre-schooler in tow.

I improved my highway FC from 16.5 to 18.5 km/L by just lowering my cruise control speed from 120 kph to 110 kph.

So I save 50 pesos in exchange for 8 minutes. [emoji848]

I stick to 80, most of the time, unless I'm late.

At 80, you're above 22 km/l, even with Cruise Control.

All you need to do is wake up earlier.

    Here's a graph of my Civic's FC (y-axis) vs. avg speed (x-axis):

    - Improvement in FC follows a parabolic curve as average speed increases
    - 20 km/L outlier was when I did an eco-run from Manila-La Union

Looking closer at the city driving FC alone:

    - Every 1 kph increase during heavy traffic (under 15 kph) has a very sharp improvement in FC
    - In moderate traffic (16-20 kph), FC is roughly the same
    - Steep linear increase again in FC as avg speed increases in light traffic

Data was from 66 full tanks from a total of over 24,000 km travelled.

    A very informative graph! Thanks

A minor correction on the ave. speed unit on both graphs though.

90% Skyway-Slex. Rush hour "traffic," Eco mode on, A/C at 22.0c, 100 kms back and fourth to work. Tollway speed limit (most of the time)
All-time best was 20 km/l for 300++ kms same route.
