they have this mistaken notion, that just because the blinkers are on and they can see it, everyone also sees it.

i almost bumped an ambulance once. its blinkers were on, but its siren wasn't. it was trying to overtake everyone. i did not notice it, as it was coming from the right side behind me. blind spot.
