November 30th, 2006 09:38 PM #21Hi, Guys!
This is my first posting.
Have been thinking of buying a small car and the "pica" (As most of you would call it?!) seems to be interesting. I have read some discusssions re the pica gas consumption but could not find any comments the A/T version. Anyone of you have this info?
Questions re reliability bothers me. Can any of you pica users give me an idea?

December 5th, 2006 04:13 PM #23Thanks!
Checked out the link u gave. Wala pa rin doon mka sabi kung ano ang gas cosumption ng matic na picanto. I suppose that this should differ compared to other A/T's becoz of the small engine. Kung sa 13-2000 Liter cars 1-1.5 km/l diff, baka sa 1100 mas malaki.
Or, baka nman pareho lang. Anyone here who have this info?

Really bad. That is to say, average for a CR-V type vehicle (pati mga CR-V, medyo gas guzzlers). Say maybe 6-7 km/l in traffic. Varies wildly depending on how you drive, where you live and what time of day you drive.
Kung sanay ka sa mga CR-V sized gasoline vehicles, it's not a problem. Pero medyo underpowered siya.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

December 24th, 2007 11:49 AM #28How efficient is the 96 at gli in terms of km/l? I just got my last week kasi eh. whats the best fuel I could use for it since I don't have the foggiest notion of it. Also, where's the best place I go to tune up this car before I go out of town and where are the service centers in which I can go to :P thanks a lot in advance and go maZda! Also how to optimize fuel consumption pala? Newbie car owner! first car born out of blood, sweat and tears!

hi benz,
we almost have the same car. but mine was a 97. petron xtra unleaded was the best fuel for my car. it gave me a best of 7km/l pure city. fuel type differs from car to car though, it is up to your experience as to what brand of fuel fits your car.
thread of fuel consumption in Mazdatech http://www.protegetech.org/forums/vi...t=5604&start=0
installed with a KNN air filter, hotbits bolt on headers, and mazdaspeed muffler. best places to have it serviced is blacksheep autoworks along imelda/felix avenue, cainta beside RM autoshoppe(non casa), Zee Karplus along aurora blvd near M7 (non casa) and KIA Pasay/Precision Certified Autocenter (casa)
how to optimize fuel consumption? in my 7 years of ownership of the familia, the best things to do are give the car proper maintenance (tune ups), change ATF regularly (every other tuneup), dont go over 3.5k rpm since peak power is at around 3.5k, and plan your route. check your engine for levels of the fluids (ATF, PS, Brake, Oil) and leaks too.

March 19th, 2008 02:04 PM #30Mine is '97 with Khaos installed. I get 10.5 km/lt in highways, and between 8-9 km/lt city driving. I usually load Caltex silver or Petron extra.
