Yup, I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole and will shoot anyone holding one near my car.
I used the Wix before on one of our older cars but wasn't aware of how good it was until it came along on this thread. The agony of this is the shops the sell the good filters are all quite a distance from my place in QC and from my usual routes. So it'll really entail having to drive to the Manila/Caloocan or Banawe area.

Thanks for the heads-up. I might also drop by Superior for the Wix; called them and they may have the model i need for my car.
BTW, its think its possible that ACE Hardware isn't aware that some of their Purolator filters are supposedly fake; these are all concession items if you look at the price tag.

The engine was quieter bro when I used RP. Acceleration also is very smooth, very tempting always to press to the metal...Yun nga lang, it is P600 per quart compared to the P450 of TDT. Motul now has dropped it's price to P600 also for the Specific CRDi...
Hi Dvldoc, do you have a direct comparison of these 3 oils' Moly, Calcium, Zinc, Phosporous and TBN?
- RP 15W-40
- Mobil1 TDT (5W-40)
- Motul Specific CRDI Diesel (5W-40)

February 3rd, 2012 04:51 PM #1086Hi doc, long time no post..
Am i also wastng money if im replacing my oil filter 3 times in 10,000kms (or every 3.33k kms)?
Im using Mobil TDT, my filter is Baldwin B233 full-flow.
I'd like to know if frequent filter replacement would help in delaying the very dark oil. My EGR is already blocked and i have oilcatchcan but it seems the oil is still dark. Or maybe because my oilcatch can is not working well.. I checked the turbo and it has some traces of oil but not as many as before i had the OCC, seems youre right about crankcase vapor something has to catch it alongside with the surface of the can.. I installed a pleated media on OCC to see any difference.

*dvddoc everytime i'm changing my oil i always think this video is this true??? Mobil 1 put 1 million kilometers on a Mercedes-Benz engine then broke it down to see how the fully synthetic motor oil did in leaving minimal deposits and minimal wear on the engine, demonstrating how Mobil 1 will allow an engine to operate in like new conditions through an extended test length.

Mobil1 tests synthetics on a BMW e30 325i through a rough one million miles. Mobil drives the important point that synthetics oil and gas additives preserve the mechanicals. The other important factor to note is the engine chosen is of the most durable that BMW ever designed, LOL

Your absolutely wasting your money run them both 10,000kms. Some vehicles will have black oil no matter what unless you have true 2 micron bypass filter. Cumming diesels here in the states turn the oil black in 1 day even with a synthetic media filter. That's just how it is. But they still do 12000km oil change intervals.

You can do a million miles on Mobil Delvac oil, it's been used in the trucking industry for years and it's only Group III oil vs Group IV like the mobil 1 full synthetic oil.
If your using mobil 1 make sure your using the API ratings that still have a good amount of additives in it . I am not a fan of SN rated oil. very low additives in it.
And it's not the type of oil so much as how many ppm of detergents are in your oil. Almost any diesel oil will do this for you that is group III.
