    Check the downshift cable. It may be out of adjustment.

    Ako naman ngayon ang nagkaproblema. My engine is 4D56T..kahapon lang e nagfflicker ung oil pressure light. kapag nirebolusyon e nawawala at kapag hindi inapakan ang accel pedal e nago-"on" ung warning light ng oil pressure. nangyari na ito dati last june 2009 i think but due to low oil levels.
    Pero ngayon iba naman. ok naman ang oil level. i'm using delo gold 15W-30.
    Last oct 2009 eto mga pinagawa ko:
    1. change cyl head gasket
    2. change valve seal
    3. cyl head grinding
    4. change oil and filter

    Eto naman ang mga iniisip ko na checkpoints:
    1. sending unit baka defective
    2. due to oil leaks sa oil cooler lines (bka humihigop hangin kasi matagal ko nang hindi napagawa ung kaunting leaks)
    3. worn engine bearings (crank and cam)
    4. plugged oil filter? ewan ko lang kasi may bypass naman.
    5. plugged oil filter? ewan ko rin.

    Sa mga nakaexperience nito kindly share naman. it would be a great help at least i have some ideas bago ko ipaconfine ang pipip ko. thanks a lot mga sir!

    Try using 15W-40. Mainit na ang panahon ngayon.

    Last oct 2009 eto mga pinagawa ko:
    1. change cyl head gasket
    2. change valve seal
    3. cyl head grinding
    4. change oil and filter

    Eto naman ang mga iniisip ko na checkpoints:
    1. sending unit baka defective
    Temporarily remove sending unit, and put in a mechanical pressure guage to see the true oil pressure. If pressure is OK, replace the sending unit.
    2. due to oil leaks sa oil cooler lines (bka humihigop hangin kasi matagal ko nang hindi napagawa ung kaunting leaks) Hindi pwede humigop ng hangin sa oil cooler dahil pressurized ito.
    3. worn engine bearings (crank and cam) Possible cause ito ng low oil pressure. To confirm, you have to check the condition of the crank bearings, and measure bearing to crankshaft oil clearances.
    4. plugged oil filter? ewan ko lang kasi may bypass naman.
    5. plugged oil filter? ewan ko rin. Hindi siguro pwede ito dahil nabanggit mo na kapapalit mo lang ng oil filter.

    Salamat sir dieseldude sa reply esp. sa #2 item. nga pala i forgot that i was using delo gold monograde sae 40 pala. last year pa yung 15w-30. my problem is finding a mechanic with complete tools esp ung mechanical oil pressure gage. i'm praying na hindi pa sana pudpod ang mga main bearings. ...

    sir diesel dude, I just bought a 95' mitsu pajero JDM(surplus) with a 4m40 2.8li engine, A/T tranny, and 4wd. I really dont have any problems with my rig. Yung fuel consumption lang, I only get 6km/li on city driving. Is that normal? or do I need to have it calibrated?
    exhaust is ok, no black or gray or white smoke. Tires are all stock

    6km/L * city is quite high. Check your air intake system, etc.

    City driving cannot be an accurate indication of fuel consumption due to many variables. Try hi-way driving.

    sir: need your opinion... may problema ang vacuum system ng 97 hlander ko... noticed na mataas ang idling... had it checked by a mechanic... ang sabi: wala daw suction yun hose connected sa alternator... baka daw barado... ok pa naman ang electrical system ko... di ko alam na may connection sa alternator ang vacuum system ng engine ko... sorry, newbie sa diesel engine kasi...na rerepair pa ba ito? thank you very much!!
