February 10th, 2015 06:28 PM #12kapag nagkabaliktad ba ang polarity sa starter, e mag-iiba din ba ang ikot? nasubukan nyo ba?hehe.
pero ayon sa aking kaalaman lahat ng motor na gumagamit ng supply na DC ay isa lang ang direksyon ng ikot.at kapag binaliktad mo ang supply mag iiba din ang ikot .babaliktad...
base sa mga 2 carbon DC motor na aking napag alaman ..di ako sure dyan sa starter.na tatlo ang carbon brush.
pero hulaan ko nalang.pag dating siguro dyan sa atarter .komo tatlo ang carbon brush at iba ang winding niyan.hindi mag babago ang ikot.1 direction parin..

ung tsikot ko minsan pag start ko siya may maririnig lang akong nag click sa starter.pero ayaw tumuloy.kailangan ko pang ulitin ang pag start,sa second or third attemps saka palang siya mag start,,

hala ka! may dwende ang sasakyan mo!. biro lang.
ganyan ang paginarte nung starter ko bago nung bumigay (ahahaaaaYYY!!!). field coil ang nadale. basta na lang ayaw umistart/rumedondo bigla ng walang paalam.
maari dng armature. o simpleng higpit lang siguro sa mga koneksyon gaya ng battery clamps, corrosion, etc...
hindi ko talaga masabi hanggat wala sa mga kamay ko iyan. copper ba o lead yang clamps mo? unreliable din ang lead e sa experience ko. madali lumuwag at magkaron ng puting deposits.

February 11th, 2015 01:40 AM #16i do not wish to douse cold water over such burning enthusiasm, but... in fact, i am gratified that someone still likes to get down and dirty...
if you do this at home, and you do find something that needs replacement...
you will realize that you have a car that you can not start, because you brought down the starter...
so how will you buy that part you need to fix the starter?
it is because of this, that we do not distrungcate our starters at home anymore..
believe it or not, sabay kami ni kuyang humalakhak nang malakas, nung ma-isip namin yun...!
but it is fun...
btw... driving a starter-less car? not a very good idea.. big gamble.. unless you have three friends in the rear seat..

February 12th, 2015 08:17 AM #17Most important reminder before you start tinkering with anything that uses electricity, lalo na yang starter. DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY. Para makalas mo ng tuluyan yung starter sa makina, tatanggalin mo yung wire na galing sa baterya dun sa terminal sa may solenoid. Pag nakakabit pa rin yung polo ng positive sa baterya at yung llave na gamit mo ay nadikit sa kahit na anong parte ng kotse tyak yan shorted mangyari na parang fireworks na puro spark. Secondly, pag kalas na yun starter at mag test run ka ng motor nito, make sure na nakaipit sa vise o kaya ay tapakan mo ng husto, mahirap hawakan lang unless sobrang lakas ng grip mo kasi malakas sumipa ( high torque) ang motor ng starter. Baka pumilipit braso mo o mabitawan mo. Safety first weekend mechanics!

onga pala salamat at pinaalala mo. opkors, common sense na rin mga kaibigan na tanggalin ang "B" terminal connection sa starter at "S" terminal sa solenoid.
nakalimutan ko pala banggitin sa intro ng thread regarding safety precautions before doing any work on a car....
disconnect the negative cable, wear safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hwag manigarilyo o no open flame near the battery (kala kasi ng karamihan e simpleng tubig lang, di nila alam na explosive hydrogen ang ineemit nito), etc..........
regarding sa testing ng starter, inapakan ko lang. kaya namang ihold dahil free naman ang pinion. pwera lang kung may sayad ang bearings ng starter e mas malakas ang kickback. kung may vise, much better.
