Nabasa ko na to before, another reason why i am only considering gmelina as "paningit", and only if i can find a steady market. They do sell gmelina lumber at wilcon builders. I'll check also with matimco if they buy gmelina timber.

bro hindi mo pwedeng singitan ang gmelina papatayin lang ang katabi niya. pag binenta mo naman hindi per board feet kukunin sayo kundi per hectare bibilhin ang puno mo (kung ilang ektarya yung tinaniman mo yun ang pepresyuhan ng buyer) sila na rin ang bahalang mag harvest.

bro dito din ako sa norte. yung manager kasi ng Allied Bank nagsimula sa 2 ektarya ng rubber tree after 5 years ang harvest ngayon isang bundok na yung plantation niya.

Sir di ko isisingit sa gitna ng mahogany, it will be planted separately, mga 5 hectares if i have 15-20 hectares of land. What i mean by paningit is in between years before the mahogany harvest. So since 15 years ang harvest ng mahogany and gmelina is 5 years then 2 harvests of gmelina can be made, paningit na income while waiting for the mahogany. Sorry for the confusion.

Labor intensive talaga. At kelangan mapagkakatiwalaan talaga. Mahirap na maloko.

How about mushrooms under the trees? My father and i made a mushroom bed years ago, just for home use, and we ended up supplying mushrooms to our neighbors for weeks just from a 2 square meter bed!

Maganda ang kape at rubber tree sa hindi dinadaanan ng bagyo, labor intensive din ang mga ito. You have to consider also climate change - kung noon hindi binabagyo ang South at North, ngayon madalas na.

I have 6has mixed gmelina,mahogany,& pili trees. Labor intensive lang forthe first year habang lumalaki ang puno. Now on its 5th year, 40-50footer na ang puno. Mahina sa bagyo ang gmelina parang puno ng manga. Kaya yung 8has mango orchard plano ko gawing mixed farm. Mas maganda daw ang roi sa poultry with the new technology, eto ang sinubukan ko ngayon, pero you have to employ atleast 2 laborers.

Another problem nga pala sa timberland na walang bakod at hindi ka full-time, ay yang squatters.I suggest kung medyo alangan ka sa tenancy kahit not under carp ang land, mag hire ka ng caretaker na renewal basis ang contrata. Hindi sakit sa ulo compared sa tenancy ng coco and riceland.
