September 7th, 2013 04:22 PM #71nakita ko po ung cost and return analysis ng rubber tree...ganda kasi detailed...sana meron din ganito for mahogany at gmelina...based kasi sa rough estimation ni yebo eh annually, millions ang pwedeng kitahin ng isang gmelinat/or mahogany plantations per hectare...pero ung sa rubber tree nasa 106,000 annually...parang ang layo po ata ng discrepancy..unless magkaroon din tau ng same detailed cost return analysis for mahogany and gmelina....

September 7th, 2013 04:58 PM #72sir yebo, parang di kasi aabot sa 100% more trees ang accomodate ng hexa vs square...pag cocompute mo, around 15% more lang po ung advantage...below is ung quote nung nakita ko sa link na eto, Horticulture :: Orchard Management
"b) Alternate row planting pattern
3. Hexagonal System: In this method, the trees are planted in each comer of an equilateral triangle. This way six trees form a hexagon with the seventh tree in the centre. Therefore this system is also called as 'septule' as a seventh tree is accommodated in the centre of hexagon. This system provides equal spacing but it is difficult to layout. The perpendicular distance between any two adjacent rows is equal to the product of 0.866 x the distance between any two trees. As the perpendicular distance between any two row is less than unity, this system accommodates 15% more trees than the square system. The limitations of this system are that it is difficult to layout and the cultivation is not so easily done as in the square system."

Mushroom spores ang tinatanim, nabibili yun naka-bottle, may different varieties. Dati sa bureau of plant industry meron nun.
sa area ko kasi compute yung x2, since aeea of a square = side^2 while area ng equilateral triangle = side^2/2. So kung sa distance mo i-based parang 15%, pero pag sa area x2. Try ko i-layout on paper...wait lang on the road ako bukas pa ko makauwi.

September 7th, 2013 08:52 PM #77Havent read all of the posg here. ButId rather invest in high value crops rather than plant trees that requires approval from denr. Alam mo mo naman kalakaran sa gobyerno.

September 7th, 2013 10:43 PM #78if long term investment, para sakin i prefer ung tree plantation kasi ung ROI eh talagang malaki...i think basta dumaan ka lang sa tamang process sa pagdedeclare ng plantation farm mo sa denr, i dont see any issue pag logging and processing na...
well para sakin lang naman, gus2 ko talaga i pursue ung long term investment na eto...and isang reason pa is medyo malapit ako sa nature...

September 14th, 2013 02:41 PM #79sir yebo, sa tingin mo ung soil quality na pwede sa sugarcane plantation eh maganda for mahogany plantation?

Ang nakita ko lang na requirement e well drained soil. Not recommended yung flooded (like rice paddy).
Yung sa square and hexagonal, x2 talaga ang difference e. Sorry sira scanner ko but i laid it out on paper, x2 talaga. By area kasi, not by length. Yung by length, sine 60 degrees = 0.86 kaya sabi sa nabasa mo e 15% difference lang. Pero by area dapat mo computin. Area of square = 2.5x2.5 = 6.25 square meter. While area of equilateral triangle is actually even smaller than 1/2 of a square of the same sides, A= sides^2(square root 3)/4, for 2.5 meters distance = 2.70 sq. meters. So pwede pa lakihan ang distance and still have 2x the number of seedlings per hectare. For x2 s=2.7 meters instead of 2.5 meters.
