January 3rd, 2017 02:07 PM #752017 na! majority of the banks have failed to meet the deadline and the govt (BSP) seem not to care, what they want is that the bank to shoulder the cost of the fraud for being non EMV
gave THREE YEARS to comply but FAILED!
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas - Publications & Research
Any changes arising from the EMV implementation guidelines shall be incorporated in the EMV Migration Plan and all affected BSIs shall resubmit their updated plan to BSP within sixty (60) calendar days from date of the Circular. Finally, the BSP reiterates that all cards issued and card-accepting devices should be EMV-compliant by 1 January 2017.
The EMV Implementation Guidelines shall take effect fifteen (15) calendar days after publication of the appropriate Circular in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines.
what i have

metrobank, bpi, security bank (said three haven't send info on existing card holders if they will upgrade us)

January 3rd, 2017 03:32 PM #77thats why they were given three to four years to comply... yet still FAILED on the ATM/debit side, credit card (excluding prepaid) is 100% EMV compliant for PH
i made a research, BDO, security bank debit is EMV compliant on new accounts...
pending EMV is metrobank and bpi
seems like if you want the EMV is you will have to go to the bank and request by yourself, not unlike HSBC that sent us a mail saying my EMV is ready for pickup and my current non-EMV card will be deactivated on a specified date...Last edited by Stigg ma; January 3rd, 2017 at 03:36 PM.
