I think that the point of this thread that you shouldn't mount HID's on reflectors designed for halogen lamps, not even if it is just on low beam. If you want to put HID's, you should be responsible enough to search and retrofit a projector assembly, not just plug it in.
HID kits are selling in banawe at just 8k. dami tuloy bumibili, wala namang projectors. What the installers say is that they just set the HID's on low, and keep the halogen for high beams. Para daw di nakakasilaw. Even then kitang kita na may glare, sabog yung ilaw, at walang cut-off.
Muntik na akong bumili ng "HID kit". buti nabasa ko ang thread na ito. thanks mga ser sa mga info!

January 27th, 2008 09:53 PM #135Peeps,
Sensiya na newbie lang ako with this HID technology. But how do we know if we have projector lens or not in our headlights. Would truly appreciate if anyone can post a pic of headlight with projector type lens?
TIA

I have also done my fair share in researching about HID lighting over the years and I gotta tell you, it is here to stay.
Back in 2004, there was talk that this "fad" system would eventually die a natural death since it really has no purpose but pang porma lang daw . Yet today, we are beginning to see some top end car variants having standard HID headlamps. Talk about the evolution of a "fad"! And that just for starters, I truly believe that this will become standard equipment like your regular, off-the-production line Halogen lamps.
Maybe it is because that manufacturers saw the two key benefits of HID: More effective illumination using very minimal wattage on a car's electrical system. Very beneficial if you ask me.
Of course we all know by now the importance of projectors to "properly project the light" to a safe direction so I won't go bouncing off the walls with that anymore.
On a side note, sometimes I am just amused by some who swear against the use HID systems only to find out later that they themselves do not have, or worse, not even tried it on their vehicles.
Peace ya'll!
