The national government should reverse the movement of E10 gasoline because it results in LOWER fuel mileage. But in doing so, it increased the demand for fuel overnight by 5 to 10 percent (the same percentage drop in fuel mileage). That means the government earns more money because the motoring public was dupped into the "clean fuel" idea and we all end up paying for it until today.

Thanks!! So even the new reformulated Shell VPower Fuel range has E10 pa din pala...

Is E10 really that harmful to our cars that the price and octane of Blaze100 is worth the premium?

alcohol is harmful to rubber. although, an author says, at this concentration, it's... not.
but i suppose, the whiz guys have already remedied this.

All liquid fuels for motors and engines sold in the Phils shall contain locally-sourced biofuel components as mandated by law, RA9367 - Biofuels Act of 2006. For gasoline, should contain 10% ethanol and for diesel should contain 2% CME. If there are fuels sold without biofuel components chances are they are smuggle. If any major player claim that their products do not contain biofuel components chances are they are bluffing.

if I may add ethanol alcohol is very corrosive and absorbs more water than gasoline and absorbs dirt very easily. If these contaminants are not filtered successfully, they can cause damage and corrosion inside the engine block. Ethanol is also a good source of food for micro organisms in the fuel. With more water and microbes E10 is prone to microbial contamination commonly called as sludge. Some may just be clear slimy substance but, more than enough to plug the filter element and starve the engine.

Thanks for the wisdom guys! Hopefully the other fuels (sans Blaze100) have been formulated with enough additives to battle the cons of e10 in our fuels cos it's just too expensive to always go for the most premium ones (Blaze / Vpower Racing)

Some of my staff's cars have gone over 200,000 km in under 10 years and have been fed with nothing but ordinary E10 unleaded. No corrosion whatsoever in the fuel lines and no engine damage as well.

But if you want to make Petron even richer by paying P4.50/L more (that's an extra 180 pesos per full tank) for no other reason than going ethanol-free, go ahead. 😂
