* suv
may mga automatic na pwede mo gawing parang manual, example gaya nung sinabi mo na steady lang siya sa 2000rpm pero di na nagshishift up, instead of stepping on sa gas harder, bitawan mo then tapakan mo ulit. nagshishift up siya pero press on harder ng biglaan, magdodownshift naman.

November 21st, 2007 10:37 PM #83Start with M/T and master it for about say 2 yrs.
After that, its your choice, but just start w/ M/T.
If u dont know MT, u really dont know how to drive.
Sometimes u dont have a choice. The car u really like might only be on M/T(ex. Getz CRDi) or only A/T(like Mazda3).

D1 - locks the transmission in 1st gear D2 - 2nd gear D3 -3rd gear and so on...
you use this to match your requirement ... towing...engine brake...climbing.
When the driver wants maximum acceleration, floorboarding the accelerator
pedal will force a downshift.Last edited by mark_t; November 22nd, 2007 at 02:18 AM. Reason: unfinished

I have been driving a manual transmission since I got my own first car in 1977. And since then, almost every 5-7 years I change cars and all were manual tranny. Our first automatic tranny is a 2003 isuzu crosswind xuv which is my wife's main vehicle. All through my driving years, I was an aggressive driver and feels fulfilled being able to drive relatively fast.
But all these had changed when I got my 3.2 strada A/T recently. Apparently, age had caught up with meand made me decide to get an automatic. Talaga atang ganyan pag medyo lumalabo na mata mo, you wear out more easily, at me feeling ka na ng complacency. I became a milder driver, more careful in maneuvering, very much like a sunday driver. Traversing the metro manila traffic is much easier now. Di masyado nakakapagod.
But there still are times when I long for the control that I get and aggression that I feel when driving the manual transmission. So I alternate my ride with my manual honda civic and crv.
So in my case, when I was young and aggressive, the manual transmission fits me well, and as I grow older (ouch!) I yearn for a more relaxing ride, hence an automatic. But you may ask, bakit strada? Actually, pang-cover-up lang yun, feeling young, kung baga hehehe.
However, sa tingin ko nasa transition pa ako, kasi I still look for my manual rides. Probably, in years to come, balik ako sa manual, but this time me driver na ako, hahaha. O di ba, voice command na lang ang driving.

Correct me please if I am wrong..pero went I went sa US ..mas lamang or majority of Vehicles (Big and Small) na nakikita ko are usually A/T. Unlike in our country na medyo mabibilang mo.
I also used to like M/T..expecially when you have a lot of people around you who are none beleivers of A/T...but slowly..especially after I started working and was able to drive a couple of A/T vehicles..both LHD and RHD....I started to have a paradigm shift...and hence got myself an A/T. I find it so convenient to drive in A/T..especially in the Middle east..dagdagan mo pa ng cruise control.

Personally I like the MT because i get more mileage. But if i am going
to do any towing i will get an AT.
When i can afford a truck, it will be in AT.

Hi sir donT, sa US, novelty ang manual transmission. Most people there prefer an automatic kasi panay long drives and freeways. Observation ko lang yan.
