I recently bought a 2nd hand car so let me share you my experience.
Facebook Marketplace has tons of cars available. Sorting or filtering is quite a problem though. There are a lot of gems (fairly new, low mileage) out there but unfortunately most of them are quite a distance from my house. It is a bit frustrating.
Carousell has a lot too. Better to filter and sort but same frustration with the distance of where the car is available for inspection.
Carmudi, Philkotse, Autodeal are mostly filled by 2nd hand car dealers. Mostly are repossessed cars which they buy from banks at a discounted price (they purchase by volume). Again, there are some gems there but the prices are very high.
I went to 2nd hand car dealers near my residence but they mostly sell high end cars (Fortuners, Land Cruisers, FJ, and even exotic cars), way above my price ranges. Fortunately, there was one dealer who had the car model I had in mind but was pretty expensive. Saw it, sat on it, smells like new. Low mileage. Very clean. Drove it and it was ok. I took a chance and made an offer removing nearly 100k on the price tag. They agreed.
One advantage of dealing with car dealers is that they are willing to process the papers for the transfer, hence you can get a clean CR with your name, even if the car has an ugly document history.

Bought my car (Civic 2.0s 2009 model) through FB marketplace. Car was in good condition, albeit the mileage (110k, which is normal). Just have to nitpicky on what to check in the post. Had the engine and transmission checked by a mechanic.
Also, I am more wary of low mileage vehicles than those with high ones. Andali na palitan ng odo ngayon hehe. Hindi nako maniniwala kapag more than 10 yr old na yung tsikot, then the odo just reads 30-70k, unless 2nd or 3rd car ng may-ari.

Observation ko din yung super low mileage units.
12 year old car with 52K kms lang? And then yung seats and plastic interior pieces giba-giba na. Seems impossible.
Few things I learned along the way:
1. Wasak na leather on the seats = constantly driven no matter what the odometer says. Sometimes its because wala syang quality tint, but then it shoes na lagi sa open parking sya.
2. Meticulously maintained? Tignan mo brand ng tires nya. Pag super cheap taxicab brands hindi yun meticulously maintained.
3. Private car not GRAB - check the a/c vents and dashboard. Pag puro gasgas pinang-grab yan kasi jan nila mount yung mobile device ng drivers
4. Casa maintained? - check the coolant color, oil filter (dapat branded ng casa) and drive belts (dapat fairly new).

Agree on all. Mine is low mileage (2010 48k) pero yung steering wheel natuklap na. Covered garage naman at home and work. It pisses me off
Pero when I bought seat cover for it, the installation guys said sariwa pa daw upuan. Rare for me to have passengers kasi.

My 12 year old car, walang bubong paradahan, sa paint sya nag manifest pero everything inside, maayos. I think, pag bugbog ang loob, it's because the car is being driven without ac and ung dumi ang kumakain sa upholstery and seats
