I'd actually go for midsize sedans, either the Camry V6, Accord V6 or Subaru Legacy GT. I observed that the owners usually do not drive these vehicles hard and has the money to actually properly maintain them.
For the compact category, performance wise and fun to drive factor, I'd go with the Ford Focus 1.5L Ecoboost. I have one and even the interior's leather seems to be aging gracefully. Lots of low mileage ones but there are minor issues here and there reported in the facebook group like ABS sensors needing to be replaced, water pump need replacing, etc.

Hard to find a decent crossover below 450k. As stated above, they're usually quite old. Maybe a 3rd gen CRV.

If you don't have much passion for driving, the safe choice is either a toyota vios or a honda city for 450k. Both are reliable and fuel efficient plus the spare parts are abundant...
Thank you for your inputs boss. I will look for Honday City na lang siguro, Vios is too common pang-taxi vibe lang. For Camry naman, nakikita ko for 450k price point mostly nasa 2006 models pa, reliable pa din kaya kahit ganun kaluma na?

they're very popular cars for a reason.

even if the initial cash lay-out is larger,
the consequent relative ease of maintenance makes it all worth it.
also, some argue that the japanese products are more matibay than the korean equivalents.

you may noticed that korean cars have a somewhat lower resale value than the japanese..
there's also a reason for that.

    for 450K,
marami ka nang mapag-pipilian na hapones...
my opinion is, get the more expensive from among the similar models. this usually translates to less headaches down the road.

    to quote a MB guy,
"the most expensive MB is the cheap one."
translation: "fixing it up to standard, can turn out to be more expensive than purchasing a more expensive one but is already within standard."

    good luck in your search.
Thank you boss. Ang gusto ka lang kasi sa Elantra or Tucson is maporma siya and I thought since Korean brand marami na rin pyesa. I browsed in FB Marketplace and usually Honda City is mejo pricey pa nga for 450k around 2014 model lang pwede mo makuha. Reliable din ba kahit manual lowest variant ng Honda City? May nakita ako 17k odo lang 430k nya binibenta.

my view on taxi cars is somewhat different from others'.
i like taxi cars. parts are more easily available, and mekanikos who know how to fix them are more plentiful.
plus, there's this urban belief that it is the matibay and cost-effective car models, that are chosen to be taxis.

    camrys.
they're relative gas guzzlers. they're relative luxury cars. camry owners are perceived to have more than one car.
as such, some used camrys have lower industry-standard odometer readings, and they're usually better maintained than the cars driven by the peasants (... us! heh heh.)
some automotive journalists write that camrys are built well...
i'd love to have a camry! only thing that's keeping me, is the cars' relatively large size. baka mahirapan akong i-uwi at iparada samin.

    i like honda city.
friends who have/had one, say the car is a good one.

sobrang luma na din ng 2006 kahit camry pa. I saw 2010 accords and camrys. ask if first owner haha.
honda city is good especially the manual. I owned one before, although its the 5 speed automatic and it was very reliable.

i have a 2003 corolla with over 120K km on it.
    it still drives fine.
    there are always exceptions.
but i get what you mean: the newer car usually has less issues than the older car. spare parts are also supposed to be easier to source.
but as in all cars previously owned, regardless of age, "caveat emptor".

How about corolla altis boss? Base on recos here, two options na lang pinagpipilian ko. Altis or City. Alin mas recommended mo sa dalawa?

I guess siguro based sa mga recommendation dito, City na hahanapin ko. Problema kasi sa A/T sa probinsya ko dadalhin boss, mahirap ang towing sa probinsya once nagkaproblema ka sa A/T. Hehe siguro manual na lang hahanapin ko.

Civic fb na over the city. It's a bigger and Better car all around compared to it's little bro and mpv cousins

According to carousel, you can get a fb a few thousands below the 450k budget.
