I start with pencil and paper, then I use CorelDRAW. But these drawings can be done in any 2D drawing software such as the one in MS Word or in OpenOffice (which is free). Another freeware is Inkscape. http://www.inkscape.org/
The advantage of using a 2D software is that guidelines (for perspective) can be drawn on a separate layer and items such as the wheels can be reused for other drawings by copy and pasting. Colors with gradients can be added to make it look realistic.

Interesting three-wheeler. Similar to a Grinnall ( http://www.grinnallcars.com/ ) but in a way better than that three wheeler because safeorigin's design has a roof. They both have the correct layout (two wheels in front and one at the back) for high speed and safety. The other layout (two wheels at the back, one wheel at the front) is for low speed and heavy loading.
How do you add an air-conditioning system to the motorcycle engine? One possible solution: use a hybrid vehicle's air-con because the compressor is run by an electric motor (not by the usual belt to the engine). Pero wala pang hybrids dito sa Pinas.
The three-wheeler will need an electric reversing mechanism. Wala kasing reverse gear ang motorcycle.
My comments about the design: IMHO the front end is a mess and the fenders are too big.
Safeorigin, will you allow me to clean up and redraw your design? I humbly request your permission.

April 18th, 2007 08:39 PM #278Sure as long as you can turn the gun around and shoot stupid drivers with blinding lights. j/k.
OT RANT: Just earlier this evening, I was on Mabini towards Wilson when a guy on a motorcycle (ZJ 7246) behind me suddenly turned on his light. It was blindingly bright that I was momentarily blinded. I had to brake abruptly as I couldn't see in front of me. The guy turned off his light and I moved forward. He turned it back on again, blinding me again. Again I braked abruptly. He turned it off and moved to the right lane and turnd it on. The car in front slowed down immediately. Why he has to installed a blinding bright light and risk the ire (and safety) of other motorists is beyond me. The fact that both he and his female passenger were without safety helmets somehow did not surprise me.
