yup, the problem with sarao is that they depend on surplus engine parts from japan...

My cousin used to work for Mitsubishi here in our country. He was one of the guys ijnvolved in the production of engine blocks for all sort of Mitsubishi combustion engines.

As he described what they did, I was surprised to find out that producing an engine was actually a simple process.

First they form a mold made out of sand... then they pour in the melted metal alloy... then they bore the holes for the piston, valves, water and oil... tapos.

The problem is that alloys are normally patented. The dies for the moulds in making IC's is a monopoly of Hitachi Metal Industries. Hitachi is the only company that supplies these metals for the IVC molds just as formerly, it was Germany who monopolized the LCD's that Korea broke into with a slight modification in making thier own LCD complnents.

Perhaps, we can do as Taiwan has bee doing which is buying all the scrap metal all around South East Asia at a price that the British Commonwealth could not undercut.

Mga machinery grade metals lang ating bilhin and create our own engine blocks... marami naman tayong magagaling na metalurgist na Pinoy.

Ang ating machinist are one of the best in the world if not the best... kaya lang nanduon sila sa Singapore, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, the US at iba pang mga developed countries.

And there we have the problem.

    We don't have the money.

And those who have the money & the public position to help would prefer to steal more of it for themselves.

    sir evo..
i dont think you did understand.. we dont have the technology to make hi quality steel..

madaming chinese sa mundo... si lucio tan ba sumakop sa spratley? si cojuangco ba ang sumira sa bohol? honestly.. sinasabi ko lang sayo the chinese dont like being called intsik.. naririnig ko lang madalas nagagamit ang word na intsik ng mga less educated people
    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...3031230AAVdH3h

how did you feel when the webster dictionary described the word filipina as domestic helper?..

    sir kitson..
yes i agree.. madali lang sobra gumawa ng blocks.. foundry lang.. kayalang technology lang talaga nila ay sekreto

it is the same process for the gun handles they make in bicutan..

the fittings we use dati.. puros local yan.. same process... kayalang nagsara na lahat.. completely wala nang gumagawa ng fittings sa pilipinas.. lahat galing nang china thailand indonesia japan.. the factories andyan pa.. they dont make anymore but rather import nalang..

meron parin tayong foundry shops dito.. they make water valves and other made to order stuff.. but madami talaga threatened na ng ibang bansang manufacturers

doing foundry is very simple.. kaya po natin yan actually gawin sa backyard.. the thing is.. sa blocks kelangan talaga.. perfect ang buhos.. walang impurities walang airholes etc..

    sir ghosthunter..
completely agree.. sana what we can do right now is not dream building an engine agad.. sana the government improves... para hindi masyado natatakot investors saatin.. dahil nagaalisan na madaming factory sa pilipinas.. these factories na umaalis ang bumubuhay po sa steel industry.. that we need for our dream of having our own auto industry..

bro evo.. remind ko lang po... we're just being real... gusto ko din tumaas ekonomiya natin sa pilipinas.. sino paba makikinabang pag nagkaroon tayo ng sariling auto industry kung hindi mga taga pilipinas din.. but sinasabi ko lang.. malabo yan sa ngayon..
paalala ko din lang po... degrading the chinese calling them intsik will not improve our economy or improve our lives...
    peace..

all those pinoy engine/car dreamers run into the same thing

they all run into a WALL

that WALL is LACK OF CAPITAL

when they hit that wall, there's nothing more they can do but rant

    I couldn't agree more.

But, like one of my old Dutch buddy always say... "Keep Dreaming". I wonder if he meant it like an insult or an encouragement. And I always replied..."Well, Never say Never ....again."

    libre naman mangarap hehe

    dami dreamers dito sa Pinas

just gather a group of people together... when the topic goes to "galing ng pinoy", there will always be someone in the group who will say "kaya ng Pinas ang nagawa ng mga Japan, Korea, China"

    it's always "KAYA"

    Skill/talent

    they always look at "kakayahan"

di naman pinagtatalunan ang kakayahan eh

    magaling ang pinoy

    skilled and talented ang pinoy

they always cite examples of pinoys working in foreign companies making world class products, building world class structures

    we get it already

    magaling ang pinoy

but they never bring up CAPITAL

it's like capital is just an optional side dish

any project... even a pathetic high school project... needs funding

kung gagawa ka lang ng parol, kelangan mo ng pambili ng materyales

    ganito ang mga dreamers ---

they gather around and talk about how big and beautiful a parol (or engine, car) they can create

they come up with drawings and computer 3D designs of the parol (or engine, car) and everyone is really happy, enthusiastic, and full of energy

then someone raises the question -- magkano?

    magkano contribution ng bawat isa?

who is gonna fund the project?

all of a sudden, the energy is gone

    wala gusto bumunot ng wallet

wala gusto maglabas ng check book

    they always hit a wall

Guys, how could I join this group?

We have the experience and background, but everybody knows by now that we lack on the financial side and political support.

But I would love to contribute ideas, expertise, etc. to the group.
