Most of us on this thread yearn for one Pinoy who has the courage to build the new generation of Filipino Car.

Just one question for all of us in this thread: "Are you going to truly support a Pinoy Car maker by purchasing the cars he manufactures?" I know we have different tastes, but if this car has a good design at the right cost and it is a safe car, will you purchase this car?

Please post your opinion, encourage your friends also to voice their opinion, spread the word. If we need to create a new thread for this, then let's do it.

In case this thread gets viewed by that certain person, it is hoped that this will help him gauge his options whether to plunge in and build the Pinoy car or just stay on the safe side.

    *carrora,

If you have time, try reading the other threads in this sub-forum. I know they can be a difficult read as they are not really that organized, but you will find the answers to your questions in the various posts in those threads. More importantly, you will get a feel of the general attitude of members of this sub-forum.

And if you are really interested enough, you may want to join our mini-ebs. We actually have a large group, most of whom are tsikoteers. Within this group, we also have sub-groups that meet more than once a week.

    Just contact dprox, the moderator.

Dondi - you're right!... culture is the summation of a country's conciousness.

I wonder how we ever came to have this type of culture?... I for one, really hate the Jeepney... I never wanted to ride one, drive one nor even own one.

Imagine... it's already intended to load more than it should... then so much unnecessary abubuts are attached to it like excess baggages. Ang Bigat tingnan... and I'm sure... mabigat talaga dalhin for the jeepneys power train. Can you imagine where the fuel goes with this excess weight that it carries around unnecessarily whether it is loaded by commuters or not?... (and they talk about clean air act.)

It's clearly money being burned in vain!... (another Pinoy trait!)

    Talk about priorities:

He will excell in things or ways no logical thinking individual dare not go!... and that is by being vain.

It's not art... nothing to do with art at all! no way jose!.

Pintor Kulapol.

When I was still an apprentice in oil painting at the age of 7... my Art teacher would call these Movie Bill Board Artists as Pintor Kulapols.. I really dont know what the word means... but I guess this is what is proliferating in our mainstream industry, artworld and even media.

So I guess... if the mainstream is a product of it's environment... I guess I can only blame Tito, Vic and Joey and Willy. I never enjoyed watching these noon time shows. What does majority of Pinoys find in these subliminally degenerative influences so good? What good does it do when your mind is constantly bombarded with talks and music with double meanings and suggestive messages and or lymirics?... Ex. "Itaktak mo... at Bubuka ang bulaklak at dadaan ang Reyna.."... My Gosh... and they are actually making money with these stupid songs! don't tell me.. it's the peoples opium to fight poverty. Mama Mia! No wonder... our Jeepneys look Ugly.

    ok... time to be diplomatic.

I am only exagerating my figures of speeches in order to emphasize my point. I just hope that the real Pinoy art would become hi-lighted in the near future. And I believe we are not copycats and not cheap looking... just undiscovered... and exploited by the world except our own.

Dondi, Lio... umuwi na kayo!... let's start building our country. The time to reinvent our country is now. (Parang ang daling sabihin ano...)

There's a lot of work to be done... but that's normal... Meron bang madaling trabaho? Kahit maglinis lang ng banyo o maghugas ng pinggan mahirap na rin. It's just a matter of where we are going to course our efforts.

Life is too short to be enriching another man's company. We can't blame ourselves for this... but we must set our selves free and reclaim our own time... We need to be the masters of our own time.

What the country needs from our overseas Global Pinoys is their time... your money is no use. Bakit?... eh kasi... it will be remitted here... tapos, your family will spend it... it will circulate around... and systematically it will go into the pockets of Meralco, Globe, Smart, San Miguel Corp., Malacanang, Sta. Lucia Realties, Empire East Properties, BA Financing, SM, Banco De Oro, Congress, Senate, and then eventually to the Big Corporations that control our lives. (OPEC, GM, Toyota, Isuzu, ARAMCO, EXXON, etc.)

ok... getting carried away in my emphasizing ulit.

hehehe... anyway... siguro I am just venting out my frustrations right now... or maybe overworked... pag pasensyahan niyo na lang po.

JPDM.... here's your que. Mabuhay ang Pinoy!
Some psychitrists believe that our loud culture is based on our history that we were enslaved by someone else. As slaves, we coudlnt be heard or listened to unless we become really loud. Our ancestors suffered from a lot of inner anxieties which they could express with loud music or loud paintings/artistic expressions. This is similar to the Afro-American history where many of their ancestors were brought to the US also as slaves, their resulting culture is also one that exemplifies loud music (such as rap played on large radios next to their ears). Mexicans (who under the spaniards too) also have these loud music and radical color schemes. Also, our culture where it is common to throw garbage in the streets and just about everywhere else, is also visible among hispanics who migrate to New York. This "lack of love" for the environment and countrymen is sometimes also attributed to this history.

[SIZE=4]The designs posted are unique enough and some are beauties for me. I not only would like to drive around in 'one of our own' but would aggressively promote and sell the vehicles. What is holding me back at this point is the needed confidentiality we have to adhere to so as we don't get nipped in the bud by the big players.

    nice!,
only prob is, if/when produced, it should look something out of a mold, and not the typical bended AUV.

    Hi foifoi05!

foifoi05, one of Tsikot design group's star designers, has returned! Where have you been? The guy responsible for the wonderful Tinapay and Tableta PHUV concepts. People smile at the whimsical Tableta without realizing that it is a clever combination of flat and curved panels. People react positively to it. They don't go "Ugh! Flat panels!"

Actually the concept C1A borrows a page from the Tableta and the Tinapay. Like the Tableta, the C1A is also made of flat and curved panels. And both the Tinapay and the C1A pays homage to the Renault 16 roof treatment.

The C1A may have a bit more complicated surfaces compared to, say, an Anfra, but I think the C1A is doable on a PHUV budget. For example - the C1A curved A-pillar and roof sides can be moulded plastic (or fiberglass or sawdust mixed with resin) resting on the steel body. The steel body carries the stress. The moulded plastic parts are just cosmetic and hides the flat roof and flat windshield.

    superstar? nyak!

i like designing, but never really got into minute details like what youve posted above. Been busy on a project lately so had no time (architectural btw) , and i rarely visit here, no offense guys, but the site is heavy, hehe mainipin. So you know naman kung saang forum ako madalas.

back on your work, yeah tama yan, and much better if it can be applied to every panels, parang classic nokia cellphones, anytime you can change the look of your car. Hmmm it also reminds me of a toy gimmick years ago.
