May 31st, 2008 09:53 AM #1031Most of us on this thread yearn for one Pinoy who has the courage to build the new generation of Filipino Car.
Just one question for all of us in this thread: "Are you going to truly support a Pinoy Car maker by purchasing the cars he manufactures?" I know we have different tastes, but if this car has a good design at the right cost and it is a safe car, will you purchase this car?
Please post your opinion, encourage your friends also to voice their opinion, spread the word. If we need to create a new thread for this, then let's do it.
In case this thread gets viewed by that certain person, it is hoped that this will help him gauge his options whether to plunge in and build the Pinoy car or just stay on the safe side.

If you have time, try reading the other threads in this sub-forum. I know they can be a difficult read as they are not really that organized, but you will find the answers to your questions in the various posts in those threads. More importantly, you will get a feel of the general attitude of members of this sub-forum.
And if you are really interested enough, you may want to join our mini-ebs. We actually have a large group, most of whom are tsikoteers. Within this group, we also have sub-groups that meet more than once a week.
Just contact dprox, the moderator.

May 31st, 2008 04:24 PM #1033Some psychitrists believe that our loud culture is based on our history that we were enslaved by someone else. As slaves, we coudlnt be heard or listened to unless we become really loud. Our ancestors suffered from a lot of inner anxieties which they could express with loud music or loud paintings/artistic expressions. This is similar to the Afro-American history where many of their ancestors were brought to the US also as slaves, their resulting culture is also one that exemplifies loud music (such as rap played on large radios next to their ears). Mexicans (who under the spaniards too) also have these loud music and radical color schemes. Also, our culture where it is common to throw garbage in the streets and just about everywhere else, is also visible among hispanics who migrate to New York. This "lack of love" for the environment and countrymen is sometimes also attributed to this history.

June 2nd, 2008 06:46 AM #1034[SIZE=4]The designs posted are unique enough and some are beauties for me. I not only would like to drive around in 'one of our own' but would aggressively promote and sell the vehicles. What is holding me back at this point is the needed confidentiality we have to adhere to so as we don't get nipped in the bud by the big players.

Hi foifoi05!
foifoi05, one of Tsikot design group's star designers, has returned! Where have you been? The guy responsible for the wonderful Tinapay and Tableta PHUV concepts. People smile at the whimsical Tableta without realizing that it is a clever combination of flat and curved panels. People react positively to it. They don't go "Ugh! Flat panels!"
Actually the concept C1A borrows a page from the Tableta and the Tinapay. Like the Tableta, the C1A is also made of flat and curved panels. And both the Tinapay and the C1A pays homage to the Renault 16 roof treatment.
The C1A may have a bit more complicated surfaces compared to, say, an Anfra, but I think the C1A is doable on a PHUV budget. For example - the C1A curved A-pillar and roof sides can be moulded plastic (or fiberglass or sawdust mixed with resin) resting on the steel body. The steel body carries the stress. The moulded plastic parts are just cosmetic and hides the flat roof and flat windshield.

superstar? nyak!
i like designing, but never really got into minute details like what youve posted above. Been busy on a project lately so had no time (architectural btw) , and i rarely visit here, no offense guys, but the site is heavy, hehe mainipin. So you know naman kung saang forum ako madalas.
back on your work, yeah tama yan, and much better if it can be applied to every panels, parang classic nokia cellphones, anytime you can change the look of your car. Hmmm it also reminds me of a toy gimmick years ago.Last edited by dprox; June 11th, 2008 at 05:05 AM.
