if looking for something cheaper, nagkalat mga China brands. not sure on quality though.

Depends also on conditions the wipers/car is exposed to. If it's in the shade/covered regularly, if the owner uses a wiper stand/wiper up and the wiper blades are cleaned regularly, they will last pretty long. In my case my wipers are going over two years and it's still pretty much streak free and works well even in the strong NLEX rains.
As for the wiper type, i like the Bosch frameless ones or the NWB models used in the Corolla and Camry.
