I don't see how VW can benefit technologically from Isuzu cause VW is way superior than Isuzu in terms of technology. Isuzu might be the KING OF OLD DIESEL. Pero in this new age, VW is king of NEW DIESEL. Yes not Hyundai, its VW! The only carmaker to pass the strict emission standards of the US thus the only carmaker in the US to sell diesel mass market.

Isuzu controls the trucks and commercial delivery vehicles in the 3rd World market. Probably, VW wants to dig at this market. They already got the high-end European and US customers.

April 26th, 2011 05:58 PM #16OK to ah! If it really happens, it will mean that Isuzu will have more funding to churn out new models which it has failed to do in the last few years. Hell they don't even have a true midsize SUV after phasing out the Trooper! I'd like to see an all new Trooper please!
And I agree that VW won't be benefiting much technologically-wise by acquiring Isuzu as they already have MAN for that. But imagine what will happen to Isuzu's trucks and buses once MAN's tech starts coming in.
