This is gonna be my next utility, which is gorgeously boxy, the way a pickup ought to be.... But only should Ayala Corporation include it in the Volkswagen Philippines line-up

    Cheers!

    hello,

    yes i'm interested.

to the VW masters. i'm from the isuzu sub-forum, i know little about VW. i'm interested to know about the old beetle.

what is considered to be a "rare" model or year model?

what is the usual price of a reconditioned (nothing to fix) old beetle? say model '63?

    maraming salamat po.

Split windows seem to be rare these days...

The 3 speed automatics are also rare...

I am not a Beetle expert though.

I apologize for necroing. I'm a new member and therefore can't create new threads but since this is the most relevant post that I can reply to I can't help but revive this.

I've always love the look of the old Beatle and the prices that I've seen from sellers makes it look like something that I might be able to afford.

With it's good gas mileage and affordable price, Do you think guys think that this is a good car for a first time car owner? Will maintenance costs be a huge problem? I just plan to use this for city driving. Any suggestions when buying a volkswagen? I'm not good with cars in general so any tips or inputs will be very much appreciated.

VW won't be a practical car for you being a new car owner. For one, maintenance of a VW will be tough specially for parts not to mention technicians. For new car owner like your self, a Toyota or Mitsubishi will be more practical. Remember always that buying is only the start of the story, maintenance and gas consumption will be another story all together.

I see. Thanks for the input. Is there any car in particular that I should take a look at?
