Yes, but only in the fact that current flows in only one direction. Not everyone has a background on electronics, and there's a reason why a layman doesn't use a charger as a power supply. Take the case of a simple lead-acid battery charger; unregulated and non-filtered. It does supply DC, but I wouldn't trust it for the needs of any device other than a light bulb (an exaggeration). Given the same output voltage and current rating, it certainly wouldn't supply the requirements of your circuit. Chargers, as consumer items and more so the cheap ones, don't put much emphasis on voltage stability.

    Ask and you shall receive.

Here are two beamshots of the Energizer Hardcase (left) versus the Surefire E-2E (right) at distances of 6 and 15 feet.

The Energizer is just as good or maybe better than the Surefire for close distance work since it is bright enough to illuminate say, an engine bay, but its battery will last at least 20 times longer than that of the Surefire (which has a runtime of not more than 90 minutes).

However, the Energizer doesn't have the throw of the Surefire, and when you get out to distances in excess of 20 feet (say you need to light up an open field to see if some bandits are closing in on you as you frantically try to fix your car), then the Surefire is hard to beat.

    Thanks!

I was wondering if it's better than a 1W luxeon light. I'm also a little concerned abou the 2xAA. I'm a big fan of rechargeable li-ion lights. 2xAA nimh ain't gonna cut it due to rapid self-discharge.

Interesting design though reminds me of a star trek phaser.

    grabe....

    sir afrasay,

in my limited experience with nokia phones, nothing beats the original batteries from the phone sellers. all those i tried (including a kingcom battery for a 32XX series na nokia) failed to match the orig....orig lasted at least a year all the me-toos lasted at most 6 months (kingcom was better than the other generic batteries) without problems.

yung orig, just follow the proper procedure and proper charger din it would last you a "lifetime"...money well spent.

tama ka napapalayo na nga medyo naging teknikal na tuloy ang usapan. masarap talaga may makausap na technical atleast na medyo na agitate ang mga brain cells ko.

well anyway, i did not really do a conclusive study on this, on its effects on battery life and safety. Pero with what I have discovered in its build quality and design, its enough for me to be convinced that buying a cheap product(charger) to be mated with a very expensive equipment (cellphone and battery) is not a wise idea. Pero thats just me, im not sure if im correct , maybe you have more experience with these things and i am really just over reacting. Pero I guess its better to err on the safe side.

True ... It's best to follow the recommendations for the battery. For OEM's there should be no worries (most of the time ).

got my (2) LED flashlight at 168 Divi. 150 each. may two position pushbutton switch for low (3 LEDS) and high (all LEDs lit) uses 2 AA battery. Bought it last December up to now no decrease in intensity ang light niya. Parang maglite ang appearance niya.
