OT: hope you guys don't mind, I don't want to offend anyone here, but BREAK is entirely different from BRAKE. The correct word when stopping the car is BRAKE.

Question: kung 100kph kana at yun ang max speed... at pag may nag overtake or highbeam sayo.

Edi over speeding na yun diba? Or is it ok na mag exceed ng 100kph basta over-taking kalang?

Overspeeding is overspeeding, whether you're overtaking or not. But, it's not your job to slow down speeders. That's the highway patrol's job.

Let them overtake you and then just laugh at the speeder once he gets apprehended.

A bro-in-law of mine said the in Dubai, there is a speed allowance for overtaking. If 100kph is the limit, they are allowed up to 120 to overtake. Sa Pilipinas, my intelligent guess is that it is NOT OK. You just have to take your chance & hope di ka mahuli. I see a lot going more than the posted speed limit on the fast lane. Some are caught, most are not.

Sa saudi pag 70kph ang speed limit (sa city roads), pag nag 71 ka, huli ka na. Kaya ako laging less 5 or 10kph lagi, para safe.

Yun pang speed gun nila, kung nasa 70kph ka, ang registered speed mo sa speed gun nila, mas mataas ng konti, kaya huli ka.

They also give that 20% allowance at nlex, sctex and tplex. Posted limit is 100kph but they will not flag you down as long as you keep within 120kph. At slex i'm not sure, and since i've seen posts here on the board of guys getting ticketed for doing 105kph at slex i do drive at only 100kph there.

overspeeding or not you just don't hog the left lane. Even when i'm doing 120kph i always go back to the right lane after passing.

Never use the shoulders as it is for emergencies only or for when 1 lane is closed and the shoulder is specifically allowed to be used. What will people whose cars break down use to stop and park if you use the shoulders. Kaya nga may nakalagay na "for emergency parking only" e.

ang speed gun eh meron din interference in between the car and the speed gun kaya meron 5 to 10% tolerance/error rate given... we are not on a perfect world na pag nag 101km/h eh overspeeding na... defined yan sa calibration na di sya exact value

Compared to yesteryears, I see less & less of vehicles using the shoulder. I guess drivers are learning, albeit, slowly.
