Boy2,
Kapag nalaman pa lang nung prospective buyer yung mga pinagagagawa natin sa mga rigs natin, bagsak agad ang resale value! Hehehe.
Mike2,
Car-based utes can indeed be used off-road.

well, the closest way to seriously attempt the Rainforest Challenge with a CR-V or RAV4 is:
1) buy a Tamiya TXT-1 kit and assemble it
2) seal the electronics and mechanicals well
3) buy 50 spare batteries
4) buy a RAV4 or CR-V lexan body and put it on the TXT-1
seriously though, what they all said.

ahehhehehe............... :D :D :D
Seriously, IMHO, you cant mod a CRV or RAV enough to join pre. Actually even a stock real suv cant join. ive seen pics of this event and its really really radical. Your better of buying a 2nd hand BJ40 or FJ40 (GenI LCs) :D

mbt,
Sobrang rare nung mga sinaunang LC's. Yung popular na nakikita natin now is the FJ40 series na. Hindi na yung ang una. Pero yun ang isa sa pinakapopular.

sabi sa car n driver magazine dati, yan daw crv eh talagang hanggang gravel road and beach lang, di pwede yan talagang "off-road" vehicle in the strict sense of the word. di nga daw yan pwede sa loose sand like in the desert or in mud.
why? sabi nila kasi 1st reason is yun chasis is based on the honda civic. it is actually a civic na mataas lang ang clearance so baka mabali pa yan pag 3 wheels lang naka-sayad sa mother earth. an off-road vehicle needs a full chasis daw. second reason is that it is not a real 4x4 because a 4x4, by its definition, will have all 4 wheels turning when YOU want it, not when the damn computer thinks it wants to.
di ako nagsabi nyan ha, read ko lang yan sa car n driver magazine. so yun may crv dyan, yun awayin nyo wag ako.
