Synthetic oil vs. conventional mineral oil

The advantage of synthetic oil is that it can withstand higher temperature and can work longer without losing its lubricating qualities. It doesn't get thicker at below-zero temperatures providing good engine lubrication at a cold start. However, since it's more "thinner" a high-mileage engine filled with synthetic oil will more likely to develop leaks and you will more likely to hear lifters tapping noise at a start. Therefore, If you have low mileage or turbo engine and driving under heavy conditions such as high temperature, excessive load, long intervals without an oil change, etc., or simply want to provide extra protection for your engine, synthetic oil may be a good solution. But I don't think it's worth to use synthetic oil in high-mileage engines - thicker mineral oil will provide better protection as long as you change it regularly.

I tried using synthetic oil before but reverted back to ordinary oil since 10K km takes me about a year to reach. If you use your car in extreme conditions better to use synthetic but for normal driving conditions mineral will do. mas maganda din ang more frequent change oil than 1X a year change oil. but if you have money to spend you can go for synthetic. some even change oil every 3k km only.

Some clarifications lang sir Ginnova. When you say high mileage engine, do you mean old engines that already have a high mileage reading? Since mine is fairly new, is this considered as a low mileage engine pa? Also, what does extreme conditions mean? My innova is used daily for commute to work (around 40km back and forth), mostly on the expressway. Then maybe family weekend family trips to the mall. I would say the 10km would be reached in 6-8 months.

    Friends,
At last, I got my Innova! I drive it from Toyota Cubao to Navotas. Wow, what an experience! The climate control is truly a nice addition to it. It just take less than two weeks to wait. Nice Sales Agent named Jaja Santiago. So accomodating. Can't wait till tomorrow to drive it again to work. Three days before delivery, I can't sleep. Now its here, I can't also sleep!

Thursday afternoon they called us again na i-deliver nila yun unit sa office ng Friday after lunch. They came as scheduled. Saturday, ibiniyahe ko nasa Manaoag for blessing then diretso Baguio

Bale 2 days negotiation sa bank plus 3 days waiting for the release of unit.
How does a rain gutter look like? What is the purpose of it?
