IMO, those 3rd row seats are not useless... Losing the weight of the 3rd row seats will make for a lot more bouncier ride. If anyone doesn't like to have a 3rd row, I suggest they get a Nissan XTrail instead.

Honestly, unless one has small kids or hobbits as passengers, those seats will be difficult to use. Ingress and Egress is difficult, uncomfortable, and awkward without dirtying the carpet and interior parts. The lack of ample legroom and armrests, further validates these points. If one decides to leave the third row seats upright in place, the cargo capacity is compromised. On the other hand, if one decides to stow them, all of a sudden they become big rear quarter blindspots.

    To each his own!

3RD row is like the 8-pax AUV CR-V hehehe. Si frodo at bilbo baggins lang pede umupo dun hehehe. Its very tight indeed. In the innova its more roomy. The best 3rd row SUV I've gotten onto is the Ford Explorer! Although only two adults can sit there, they ride in comfort. Unlike many, your knees are not at chest level. But then again, its a FORD. It may have been intended for large american kids hahaha Wierd tho, the full size exped does not have headrest on the 3rd row.

    Yup, to each his own...

But, look at it this way... Can you imagine the hassle of having your 3rd row at home, when for some unforeseen reason you suddenly have 6 passengers needing to ride with you?

It's good to have those seats handy. I would suggest you have them set down instead of stowed high, such that they can help dampen the bounciness of the rear and you will have a good rear quarter view. Stow them high only if you need the cargo space.

You should try the 3rd row of the Fortuner. The 3rd row has it's own footwell. It's a lot roomier than the Explorer's 3rd row, where your feet already push-in under the seat of the 2nd row.

yup, explorer's back row is more ample because of the lower floor (thank IFS) and the overall greater size of the explorer. yung sa expedition full-size talaga yung last row, parang full-size van na rin.

but the fortuner's back row is substantial enough to be useful

Is there ever an SUV with arm rests in their 3rd row seats?

Yup, to each his own here. Some people need more passengers, 3rd row seats are required. Some people need more baggage space, 3rd row seats are useless. We can't please everybody so they made the 3rd row seats foldable. And for the hardcore baggage movers, it makes sense to remove them altogether.

whats with this obsession of talking about the 3rd row seats. How about the 2nd row seats and the front passenger seats, can you cross your legs or stretch them comfortably. I have ordered one but i personally havent seen one yet.thanks.

    docpete,

for large families(like me) 3rd row is important hehehe 2nd row is great, nothing bad i can say about it.

expeds 3rd row is unbeatable!!! hehehe What can I say? Its an american (fullsize) SUV designed with Americans in mind hehehe American Size kung baga

Vicoy, actually I've hop'd onto the 3rd row of the fortuner. Parang masmaluwag yun sa innova or maybe its just me. Although maluwag para sa kin yun Explorer tignan mo naman yun price at yun makina... 2.3M 4li V6? Bankrupt ako for sure sa gas. On the trip computer its already saying 17L/100km. Sa fortuner na lang ako
