December 13th, 2022 09:58 AM #5442Is 'bolt tightening' a standard part of the PMS? It is bundled with brake cleaning in Toyota Otis for my 45k PMS but I will be having it done elsewhere so I am just checking if I need to ask them to do this as well.

December 13th, 2022 10:34 AM #5444in my opinion,
it's an "historical procedure", po,
back when they made cars "the more traditional way".
they probably chose not to remove it from the current literature, for justin, i.e., to cover the un-foreseen.
heh heh.
anyway, no harm done if they do find a few loose bolts to tighten.
one advantage of having the pms done in the casa, is that the mekanikos are well-versed with the nuances of that car.
if one were to have the pms done elsewhere, the mechanics there might not be acquainted well enough with the car's "features".
hey!
just found out, this topic was already broached here, back in 2013...

December 13th, 2022 12:48 PM #5445thanks guys! i will just ask the shop i will use to do it. When I got my PMS done at the casa every 10k i get charged around 2k for the check up labor (they also clean the brakes), then every 5k i only get charged 1k for the labor + 2k for brake cleaning & bolt tightening.

December 23rd, 2023 10:09 AM #5447you probably zeroed the km/li readout recently, thus canceling the previous higher km/li reading, and have since been driving short distance in slow or heavy traffic, or been idling.
hopefully, if you press the buttons to show your average km/li, as well as your time lapsed, that should give you a better perspective in life.
but you probably suspect that, already.
hey! 44K km for a relatively "older car" is remarkable.
the pre-owned 2015 altis i am driving now, has 36K km on the odometer.Last edited by dr. d; December 23rd, 2023 at 10:17 AM.

Thanks, but yours has even lower mileage! Wow!
oh, you're right! I've been idling my car a lot this past month because my second Mom has been going with me when I do errands, but I only let her stay in the car. Most of the time I'd leave the car idling for 30 mins. I had no idea na ganyan pala kalakas sa gas idling!
