January 31st, 2024 11:48 AM #3564Ito iyong madalas na add-on sa casa. Brake service item.

Kasi I've had the same SA since forever pero nag migrate na kasi nung late 2022 ata
Anyway, yung next PMS ko labas ko pagawa kasi it takes me years to reach 5k ko next year baka 1k lang ulit ma add, bili ako Liquimoly saka Baldwin oil filter. Pagawa ko sa labas. Sa 60k na ko ulit mag casa.

yeah funny how they call it "clean and adjust" like there's something that needs adjusting. even drum brakes are self adjustingpero walang item na "brake paste". maybe they didn't lube the tabs and shoe lube points so it's a half-a$$ed job. it's really better to have it done by a mechanic that you know if you can't DIY.

dun sa ford ko which is now a backup car naka 1k lang in the past 6 months (yeah it gets short tripped). noticed some oil dilution so i drained out the oil and filled it with Valvoline premium conventional which costs like 1k. cheaper and better than driving it for 2 hours on the expressway to burn off the fuel dilution. that's the issue for cars that aren't driven much so just use cheap oil coz you may need to change it often like every 6 months

How do you see oil dilution? Dipstick? Ganyan din mileage ng back up car ko so I wanna learn how to check.

just have a very consistent way of measuring the dipstick e.g. 12hrs after turning it off, coz the dipstick reading fluctuates depending on temperature, settling time, etc. if you notice oil level increasing then you're having fuel dilution. it's good to have the level at precisely the full mark so it's easy to detect
you gotta drive the car like at least every 2 weeks at highway speeds for a couple of hours to burn off the dilution. but this costs a lot of gasoline, toll fees, wear n tear. so i decided to just change the oil even if it only travelled 1k
