thanks for the reply... wala naman pinag-iba sa performance kaya lang pag nakatigil at naka-idling pag dating sa stop light habang naghihintay, dun umiilaw ung engine sign.. pag pinatay ang makina nawawala naman...

This is probably a sign of an impending supply pump failure which often does not trigger the CEL. However, with Toyota's vast experiences on this recurring problem, they should be able to explain to you why the engine dies.

Engine symbol is the CEL (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT). Ipa-scan mo muna sa Toyota, tapos tanungin mo kung ano ang sira, at kung aayusin nila (FOC) free of charge.

Kung hindi libre, humingi ka nag repair estimate, at huwag mo muna ipagawa sa kanila. Magtanong ka dito sa forum, or mag 2nd opinion ka sa ibang workshop.

I also do experience this CEL lit ON at some point of time while drivin; but on my case it only lits when the engine was turned OFF and then turned ON again after just a few seconds; then when it lits it starts to have a garalgal sound.... I just turn OFF the engine, count 1-10, then turn ON my engine again.... wholla! its workin fine again....
dunno what's the problem/cause about this.... let's wait for an expert opinion..

Mga sir, nasa page 112-113 ng Owners Manual ang symptoms and possible point of failure when the CEL or MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is on.

For Gas
- possibility was there's a problem in the electronic throttle control system.
- possible erroneous pedal operation (revving on low gear, with high load)

For Diesel
- possible problem on electronic engine control system.
- boost pressure in the turbo charger is abnormally high.

It looks so simple. I wonder why the fault on the supply pump is not stated when occurrence is very frequent. But we know that the supply pump is part of the engine control system.

Update lang sa innova namin, ok naman na siya ngayon(so far), may mga minor lang na hindi naayos ng mabuti, yung check engine light meron pa din, tsaka hindi accurate yung response ng engine sa acceletor pedal, parang may delay siya.. Bukas, ibabalik nanaman sa toyota quezon avenue para ma-check ulit..

Ang hirap naman i-explain nyan? Heto gawin mo: step on the gas pedal kung go; step on the brake peday kung stop.

Parang napakatagal na nyan sa casa.... may check engine light pa din, di pa completely fixed, ibabalik mo na naman sa casa....... di mo pa magamit ang Innova mo. Kwawa ka naman. Nakausap mo na ba ang service manager?
