October 27th, 2017 06:34 PM #153Basically now there are only 3-4 OEMS in the market,
Japanese
1. Advics - Made in Taiwan or Outsourced from Taiwan for the aftermarket
2. Akebono - Made in Japan
3. Nissin - Made in Japan
Korean
1. Hi-Q - Made in Korea
US
1. TRW - Outsourced from China for aftermarket
Replacement brand
1. Bendix - Outsourced from Thailand and Malaysia factories
2. Bosch - Outsourced from different countries
Bad private company's brands
1. LKC - Malaysia, Nesinbo(BLACK packaging) - Taiwan fake copy of Nisshinbo, Akebono(RED packaging) - Malaysia fake copy of Akebono, Optimum - Thailand, Rico - Made in China, R-spec - Taiwan and China
G-Brake - Outsourced from Taiwan or China, NiBK - Outsourced from China, Asuki - Outsourced in Taiwan or China.
Brands which have no mention of "COUNTRY OF ORIGIN" for example "MADE IN JAPAN", "MADE IN USA" on the packaging itself and label, you should stay away from this kinds of brands since they don't mention where the country of origin it is made in, how can you trace the manufacturer? If you encounter an accident from using their pads.

October 27th, 2017 06:42 PM #154I don't believe ICER that is being sold to our market is "Made in Spain" since yung box packaging palang ang panget na ng quality, if yung mark na Made in Spain ay nakalagay lang sa label or sticker then mabilis lang magpaprint ng sticker sa Philippines na "Made in Spain" then ididikit lang sa box ng ICER brake pads. Kelangan mo tignan mabuti yung packaging kung may nakaprint mismo sa kahon if Made in Spain. Kasi bawal na sa China, Taiwan, Korea and etc... maglagay ng peke na country of origin like Made in Germany and etc... dahil heavy penalty if ginawa ng manufacturer yun.

October 27th, 2017 06:50 PM #155Hi-Q(Sangsin) brand ang major supplier ng Hyundai, if sila OEM then they know which materials formulated for the car itself and its rotors since Hyundai was the one who gave the specifications to Hi-Q(Sangsin)
Akebono brand ang major supplier naman ng Japanese cars/trucks like Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti, Honda/Acura, Isuzu, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki & Daihatsu, American cars like GM, Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, Europe cars like Porsche & Mercedez Benz
Nissin brand ang major supplier ng Honda/Acura, and Honda motorcycles

November 5th, 2017 02:02 AM #158Ceramic brakes - best brakes in terms of stopping power, less dust and durability, best for the environment since they have little copper or heavy metal content which you can inhale and can not remove from your body.
Examples: Akebono, Nissin and etc...
Targets: A & B class because of the overall quality
Original Genuine pads only uses ceramic materials for car new car models
Semi-Metallic - 2nd best at stopping power, too dusty since brakes are majority made out of all metals, squealing noise since material is hard. Bad for the environment.
As of now, I don't know any brands available in our country
Targets: B & C because of the power and lower price
NAO(Non-asbestos organic) - made out of fibres and glass, last performance for stopping power, can not take loads of heating, easily fades, leastdurable, cheapest among the three.
Examples: G Brake, Asuki and etc... (Private brands, Non-Manufacturing companies)
Targets: C, D & E lowest price among the three legal brake materials
Asbestos - worst brake materials, causes lung diseases like lung cancer, very powdery, cheapest priced, too dusty on the rotors, mostly being used by jeepneys, taxis and buses. Least durable makes the air in our country very polluted(alikabok caused by powdery dangerous asbestos material) - ILLEGAL in most 1st word countries like USA, Europe, Japan, & Korea.
Examples: Rico, Optimum, and other cheap made up brands in PH.
Targets: E & below lowest price among all, cheap to make but worst effects on health and the environtment

November 5th, 2017 02:31 AM #159Maybe the ones they are selling are just OES in layman's term is original equipment service this means that the car manufacturer buys from a different manufacturer which is cheaper price and of course a lower quality but they have reach the manufacturer's basic standard.
Genuine OEMs - original equipment manufacturer, factory fitted pads, expensive ones when you buy it genuine brands under car manufacturer.
OEMs - the factories/companies which the car manufacturer jointly designs but independently manufactured by the manufacturing company.
Replacements - anything for the aftermarket, never meant for genuine factory installed vehicles, depends on the manufacturer if for low-end, mid-end & high-end performance.
