If only they could bring it to Makati where I can access the skyway. Or to Alabang on the weekend so I can hit Daang Hari. So now I am asking myself, "How bad do you want it?"

MI, why don't you guys open a dealership in Makati or Alabang? Or why don't you allow your SI's to bring the car to the customer? Your dealership ain't exactly the easiest place to get to, you know. If only for that, option 2 (Tucson) and 3 (CX-7) are getting more attractive.
You can request a test drive sa may white plains avenue. sa kabila lang ng MI. That road stretches long and wide enough to reach speed more than 100kph

Like you, performance is no. 1 on my criteria list. Been discussing SUV choices in the office and I've been getting a lot of suggestions to go Tucson 4x4 because of its premium features. But I reply with, "Back-up camera? That's for wussies. Besides, I like cars that make tree huggers cry."

MICGIL's suggestion on White Plains - good one. Almost forgot about that. At least there's enough road to experience the FXT's acceleration, speed and braking on, and enough crawling traffic and patched-up road on EDSA to see how it does in the regular grind of Manila. Thanks.

If I may ask (OT), if you religiously follow the PMS sched and then use fully synthetic engine oils, tranny oils and differential oils, would the performance of the FXT (esp the engine) hold up to more tha 5 years without any noticeable decline in top speed and acceleration? Sabi kais kapag gas engine, 5 years and you can feel noticeable decline while for diesel it could last up to 10 years. Due to engine heat and the rpms ha.
never heard any complains from other subaru owners, i have a couple of friends here in the states that still owns 03-05 wrx's & sti's and never really felt any decline in power. even on other subaru forums wala pa nag complain on all subaru makes so i don't think it's a problem for subaru.

hehehe, my car here in the states has a back-up camera/auto wipers/auto brake hold/auto soft close door/heads up display/paddle shifters that i never use. it's great that my car have it, but i don't really care even if it doesn't have any of those.

ask them na lang if they can think of any SUV with in the same price range that can keep up with the fxt. tingnan natin kung may masagot sila. heck even suv's that's in the 2.5M price range would have a hard time keeping up with an fxt going in a straight line or sideways.

Yeah, when it comes to the Forester XT no need of a test drive, order one then you'll enjoy it for sure. Your 1.6M(?) will be definitely worth it. Especially if you take that U-turn after Motor Image then head straight to White Plains using that long & wild .. I mean wide road. :diablo:

Oops. Sorry about the back-up cam remark. Sarap ng lasa ng Nike. Anyway, I'm just setting up my appointment for the test drive - a formality, really - bec my heart is set on the FXT. The other obstacle is the location of MI w/c isn't very convenient for a "southerner" like me especially when the PMS days come along.

To all Scooby owners, especially those who work in Makati but live farther down south, here are some Q's:

    1. How long does the typical PMS check-up take?
    2. Can I bring the car in the morning and get it out by noon? Or if I come in mid-morning on a Sat, will the car be done within the same day?
    3. How or where do you kill time on a Sat. while waiting for the car to get serviced?

Wala kasi akong driver so I have to take these things into consideration. Iba talaga if the dealer/service center is just within the vicinity of one's home or office.
