April 4th, 2011 07:03 PM #782I have got a fortuner before. it's powerful and fast. 160 at nlex doesn't feel like you're driving that speed, it's so calm and still have a kick more at that speed. and i can drive it in a knee-deep flood every time it rains when driving home. what about the forester?im not particular with extra seats.many thanks

April 4th, 2011 07:11 PM #783Forester = known and trusted WORLDWIDE (performance&safety)
Fortuner = Philippines, Thailand, South Africa(?).. COuntries not known to be safety conscious.[/quote]
yeah apparently fxt is better than fortuner in terms of safety.but i need to be convinced more on the performance. i just cant discredit my experience with fortuner.im leaning towards fxt though.maybe i really need to test drive.

^ I would reco the Subaru Forester over the Fort. Dami na rin kasi fort, matagtag pa. Plus lamang din FXT in terms of performance. Wag nga lang hard off-roading.
Test drive would definitely give you a better idea.Fasten your seatbelt! Or else...Driven To Thrill!

April 4th, 2011 08:39 PM #785Few more questions, sirs:
> how about turbo lag?
> is it true that changing tire needs putting a fuse inside the hood first to unlock its awd?
> topgear uk says there's suprisingly a little body roll
> is the ac able to cool the whole cabin considering its only placed at the front? (like in a tucson you barely feel the cool air when you're seated at the rear and its summer)

if you think that the fortuner is fast then you'll be amazed at how fast the fxt is even the 2.0 forester is faster than the fortuner. test drive both na lang bro, you'll really be amazed at how much better the fxt is not just by performance but the whole car has to offer. yon lang talaga downside is ride height.
-turbo doesn't kick in till about 2.9k rpm but once it kicks in
-false, never heard that one before.
-like i said test drive it, don't believe every thing you read or watch
-yup, on my forester i have never put the ac on max even on the summer.

Hey MICGIL. What do you need in the vehicle? In my view, pick the Fortuner only if you absolutely need those two extra seats (which are quite cramped and take up some of the trunk space, because they don't fold flat.), the extra ground clearance, and the toughness of the truck frame and solid rear axle. Or if you need more serious off-roading qualities, like the transfer case.
Otherwise, the Forester has ample ground clearance anyway at 8.9 inches, a nicer/more stable drive, a huge trunk without seats that get in the way, probably a more comfortable ride, and some other things that make the Forester a better buy. hope this helps.
As expected, in response to Tesla’s entry into the Philippines market, Ford will be bringing in the...
