June 24th, 2005 01:52 PM #122rvm519 ..
thanks rommel for the info. i was looking even before for a mechanic close to my place. i live in marilao and i prefer nga sana close to my area para mabantayan ko.
i brought my unit this morning to mcr and ther already started working on my van. they are now in the process of taking down the engine. i will visit them again this afternoon to see them work.
i will call rdd engineering so at least whenever i need a mechanic, they're the closest to my place.
thanks again!

June 29th, 2005 10:58 AM #126Spidey ...
have your nozzles cleaned baka fuel knock lang yan.
BTW, yesterday okay na yung van ko. Nabuo na ang running na yung engine although they still have to make some testing and adjustments. I will also have my nozzles cleaned kasi nagkaroon din ng fuel knock. Break-in nila since yesterday hanggang today and makukuha ko na yung van mamayang hapon.
Okay naman yung gawa ng MCR. I'm happy with all the help that they extended me. Medyo nag overshoot lang ng konti sa budget (P46K total) pero okay lang. Nandiyan na yan e.
Thanks for all the advices!

July 1st, 2005 11:15 AM #128Sir OTEP,
I also changed my air intake. before I have the original Ssangyong air intake duct pointing down. This is one probable cause of my problem. The original intake is way down below the hood. It's opening is also exposed from outside the hood so it is really possible that it will take some water in and into my engine.
I bought mine from Apic. They sell a set of it for P1K. The set includes the intake duct, a small cover for the inlet just above the radiator and weather strip for the hood. A small amount to pay to protect my newly overhauled engine.
When I got my unit at MCR, there was a knocking sound from my engine. I suspected my nozzle tips. According to their mechanic, it was normal but I doubt it. I also suspected the timing of the injector but the mechanic said that he already set the timing the best he can and insists that the noise will eventually subside after I use my van for a while. I made a visit to my other mechanic and just by listening to the noise and without checking anything he said it is definitely the timing from the injection pump. He also warned me that it might damage my crankshaft if not fixed immediately.
I had no ther choice but to ask this mechanic to fix the timing since my MCR mechanic already said that that's the best he can do. After the fix, my engine is a lot smoother and quieter. Hmmm.. does that mean that MCR is not really that familiar with MB, at least with the timing thing?
Anyway, I was really concerned that's why I had it fixed right away. Too bad, it's an additional cost for me.
Wheeew! Hirap pala ng overhaul. Anyway, at least my van now is running good.

Hi Wax, could you please share the name and location of your mechanic the fix the timing. My officemate is looking for one for his MB100D too. Maybe I could recommend him there. Thanks.

July 1st, 2005 12:43 PM #130Field Master,
The mechanic I was referring to is the mechanic of Apic Auto Supply in Banawe. His name is Jorge and I can say he is really good. They specializes in Korean vans but mostly MB100Ds. He used to work at commercial motors.
