Manny Pacquiao won't be shopping with the stars ever again, as the homophobic boxing superstar has been banned from Hollywood's ultimate entertainment destination.

Training in Los Angeles for his upcoming fight against Timothy Bradley, Pacquiao was scheduled to sit down for an interview Wednesday with "Extra" host Mario Lopez at the Grove, LA's legendary shopping mall where celebrities and tourists mingle in overpriced shops, restaurants and movie theaters. But that interview won't take place now, at least not at the outdoor mall.

LA Weekly's Simone Wilson reports Pacquiao has been outlawed by the commercial center for his over the top anti-gay statements this week. While quoting bible verses, the boxing star didn't just say he was against the homo***ual lifestyle, Pacquiao stunningly divulged gay men should be "put to death" for their ***ual crimes.

Management at the Grove quickly issued a statement explaining why the bigoted boxer has been officially forbid from entering the star-studded shopping mecca.

"Based on news reports of statements made by Mr. Pacquiao we have made it be known that he is not welcome at The Grove and will not be interviewed here now or in the future. The Grove is a gathering place for all Angelenos and not a place for intolerance."

The prejudiced pugilist attempted to defend his position with media in the Philippines.

“I only gave out my opinion that same *** marriage is against the law of God,” he told ABS-CBN’s Dyan Castillejo. “I’m not against gay people…I have a relative who is also gay. We can’t help it if they were born that way. What I’m critical of are actions that violate the word of God.”

Pacquiao, long a darling of Madison Avenue, figures to lose a number of endorsements and fans over his intolerant, bullheaded position.

For those of you who have not been following the discussion about doping and PEDs in boxing, there are currently two organizations who are being contracted in big fights. USADA and VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency).

USADA usually screens the sample first then do carbon isotope ratio (IRMS) testing if testosterone/epitestosterone ration is above 4:1. IRMS or CIR allows detection of exogenous sources of testosterone.

VADA uses CIR/IRMS test immediately and is deemed superior to USADA being used by mayweather. (OF course USADA issued a carefully worded statement debunking this)

Lamont Peterson who is about to rematch Khan tested positive under VADA.
Andre Berto also tested positive although test showed very small amounts not consistent with intentional doping. Nonetheless, Berto was scrapped from the card and Ortiz will gace another fighter.

Now the latest rumor is that Mayweather tested positive 3 times already but the results were kept secret.
Now Golden Boy Promotions through their attorney sent a letter to Gabe Montoya of Maxboxing who has been writing about doping in boxing. Here's the link to the letter Max Boxing - Main Lead - The Correspondence. And it looks like other journalist have received similar letter which basically accused them of defaming GBP and Mayweather.

The funny thing is Montoya has never written about Mayweather testing positive so in effect the GBP letter broke out the news.
But the theory is that Montoya is asking around a lot and maybe is getting closer to some secret information, hence the demand letter.

    Margarito Retires

Former boxing champ Antonio Margarito retires (VIDEO) | TeamPilipinas.info

    Margarito Retires

LOS ANGELES - Mexico's Antonio Margarito, the former world welterweight champion who was suspended for 16 months after plaster was found in his gloves, retired on Thursday (Friday, PHL time) after an 18-year pro boxing career.

Margarito, 34, becomes the third notable fighter in four days to hang up his gloves, following Shane Mosley and Winky Wright out of the ring and into retirement with a posting on his website and Facebook page.

"After much thought and extended conversations with my family and team, we have all agreed that the time to hang up my gloves and begin a new chapter in life has arrived," Margarito said.

"I always told my family and team that I would walk away from boxing when I felt I could no longer compete at the level I believed I needed to be in order to be successful.

"Although the passion and drive are still there, I have to accept that my time to walk away has arrived."

Margarito won the World Boxing Organization welterweight crown in 2002, and won eight fights in a row in the division until losing the crown to American Paul Williams in 2007.

Margarito won the International Boxing Federation welterweight title in 2008 and took the World Boxing Association welterweight crown in 2009 by stopping Puerto Rico's previously undefeated Miguel Cotto in the 11th round.

But before Margarito's next fight, plaster was found in his hand wraps before he faced Mosley and after a re-wrapping, Margarito was stopped in the ninth round.

Then came a 16-month ban and, after a comeback victory over compatriot Roberto Garcia, two final defeats, a unanimous 12-round decision loss at the hands of Filipino star Manny Pacquiao in 2010 and a stoppage last December after 10 rounds against Cotto due to swelling around the Mexican's right eye.

"I leave the cuts, bruises, and sweat, but I'm not leaving the sport," said Margarito. "I will continue in the sport that gave me so much, Now, however, it is time for me to give back to the sport." - AFP

Manny Pacquiao gets role in Hollywood movie with Rob Schneider

Filipino boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao will invade Hollywood with his appearance in a movie, “Brass Knuckles,” with Filipino-American actor Rob Schneider who will play his uncle in the movie.

Pacquiao will portray the role of a gangster in the movie to be directed by Erick Geisler, a two-time Emmy Award winner. The movie will highlight the bad side of illegal drugs, and it will be Pacquiao's first Hollywood movie.
