May 11th, 2019 12:03 PM #1Agree that guy should have explained it clearer, parang ang pagkakaintindi ko dahil sa Synthetic and from its manufacturing there will be some impurities left and that impurities ang makakapag cause ng cancer and not the synthetic acetic acid itself....Kase it is approved naman for human consumption ang mga food grade synthetic materials..i.e. mga vitamins supplements look at their label mostly synthetic derived.....
So synthetic products ba tlaga masama or was it the impurities that comes with it? Sa end of the report parang sabi me synthetic materials daw....ano ba tlaga?

there's a zeitgeist going on that anything not natural is bad
that anything man-made / synthetic is bad
there's a lot of quackery and pseudoscience out there
madami mga wellness advocates with little knowledge of science unfortunately have many followers and are quite influential... they're spreading false medical info and health myths

medyo amusing yung thread na to haha
if people are already reacting this way about some synthetic acetic acid, how'd they manage if they knew what other chemicals are being used in the manufacture of their everyday food?

May 11th, 2019 01:29 PM #6Having experience with media, I am quite sure the reporter and the reseracher had a much longer interview. Unfortunately, due to the need to compress it, only the more sensational bits were left. A few weeks ago teh news said PHIVOLCS warned a M8 earthquake was coming in Surigao. What the news didn't explain was that the agency has always been monitoring the are because the trench facing it was capable of generating an earthquake that severe.

This is what i hate about the media here.
Sa ibang bansa, pinangalanan na yan as a warning to all. Dito takot or ang mindset is negative publicity is still publicity. What's the sense of reporting it they are not going to provide full details.

*sigh*
