Chua seemed to have done well in the D-League, giving Slaughter some trouble in the paint. He was in Greg's shadow on the ADMU roster, but it seems he came into his own in the D-League. Let's see how he progresses.

gilbert lao = justin chua? 'lang-hiya buzzkill talaga kayo haha!
but i really think chua will bust out in the pba. like imm29 mentioned, he has been a force to reckon with in the amateur commercial ranks. i don't think lao (w/ due respect to the guy) ever had that kind of distinction in the now defunct pbl (or pabl)
in my humble opinion (emphasis on the humble because i'm just a mere spectator), the reason chua seemed to have a so-so career in the uaap is because he always played behind collegiate forces of nature. there was rab and nonoy who pretty much dominated the uaap inside lane. he was basically the third string center for the blue eagles in that threepeat bid.
and when he was slated to start for the blue eagles on his senior year when those dynamic frontline duo used up their collegiate eligibility, then came slaughter and the next 2 championships (w/c wasn't really foreseen by the engineers of the 5peat. balita ko hanggang tatlo lang daw na kampeonato ang hinihilling talaga nila).
like a good soldier, chua swallowed his pride, executed what was asked of him in a diminished capacity and stayed on. and in a nutshell, that's why i'm rooting for the guy because he paid his dues in spades

^ I agree with baludoy. In a sea of bigs during his time with ADMU, the more dominant folks came forward, so he really couldn't strut his stuff. But with his showing in the D-League -- banging with folks like Slaughter -- it seems he's got a good chance to make it, well, big. He'd be played as a 4 coz of his height tho.
