Please bear with me....
We replaced the split-type A/C in the bedroom because it developed a leak that no technicians were able to find or fix. Long story short, the new A/C is installed and that's the end of the old A/C. However, the air flow doesn't quite reach my side of the bed.
I sleep on the side of the bed near where the split-type A/C is, while my wife sleeps on the opposite side. On the old A/C, the vent louvre's movement has a lot more range and can reach my side of the bed, even down to my nightstand, without issues. We set the A/C at 26°C for comfort cooling and energy efficiency. That said, the louvre is set to Auto and I am accustomed to direct cool air reaching my side of the bed.
The new A/C however, has a lot less range on the louvre movement and maxes out about halfway on the bed. The wife is getting the cold air while I'm borderline sweating. It eventually get's cooler throughout the evening but it's not very conducive when you're still trying to fall sleep.
Question: Will those add-on/clip-on air deflectors I see online address my situation? This item in particular... https://shopee.ph/Air-Conditioner-De...0-141be0fbc899
Here's a rough illustration to help visualize what's going on....

Had a eureka moment last night.
The louvre is operated by a stepper motor and the aircon logic module controls it. Every time the A/C is turned off, the louvre resets to its Home position, which is closed. When you turn it on, the logic module turns the stepper motor a preset number of rotations to take the louvre to a position where it can then begin its up and down cycle.
All I had to do was influence how far back the new Home position should be by stuffing a plastic packaging foam (secured with double-sided tape) between the louvre and the vent. The result is that the louvre's new Home position is now lower and so, the up and down cycle is also lower which makes the airflow reach my side of the bed.
Had the most comfortable sleep in weeks.
I'm still considering if I should make it look more elegant. But since this is hidden away in the bedroom, I really couldn't care less. I just wanted my sleep back.
