Yup. Tama si S.S.C._28. Kami nga, mag-1.5k pms na, pinakamabilis palang na takbo namin, nasa 80-90kph lang. Hindi madala ng highway eh.

I wish, for your sake, that this fuel consumption reading is accurate.

However, at 6275 km odometer reading, it is most doubtful.

Do yourself a favor. Don't rely on this method as there is room for too many errors.

Fill your tank and take an odometer reading.

    Drive normally.

When you are down half a tank or more, fill it up again, take note of the amount of fuel required to refill, and take your new odometer reading.

You now have pure and true numbers to make a calculation.

    Ciao!

    Uncle Nick.

    Good day Unk.

That's actually what Isuzu Phils. does when conducting an extra-mile challenge, though IPC does some kinda skin-to-skin approach ----
With a full tank reading at the very start, they run the DMax 'til no fuel is left out of the tank, just like what IPC did in October 2010 when the 3.0-litre DMax LX 4x2 manual-tranny posted 24.26 km per litre mileage at varying altitudes.

This is also what we normally do although we never deplete the fuel tank hehe ---- km covered divided by the actual litres of fuel filled-in from the gas station.

Isuzu Motors seems to be doing a lot of these extra-mile, dura-mile, max-run challenges across every model and every country where the DMax is distributed.

It's somehow worth noting that our Philippine-DMax "3.0 Ddi-iTEQ" has different gear ratios compared to the "3.0 iTEQ VGS Turbo". This also takes into the account the better and more powerful 3.0 iTEQ VGS Turbo engine where it can afford to have "taller" gearing than our Ddi-iTEQ, thus it runs more relax at whichever speed it is running as it revs bit lower to accomplish the same speed as that of its less-powerful brother. Most notable amongst the DMax iTEQ VGS variants is the Thai-, Aussie-, NZ- DMax SX variant where it runs a final drive ratio of only 3.416. We don't have the SX model in our DMax's line here in Philippines. And the manual-tranny 4x2 SX is the one utilised by the Aussies in their conduct of Isuzu max-run challenge in 2009.

If our Philippine-hinDMaxsiado (MT and AT) needs to rev 3500 rpm at top-gear and run around 165 kph, the DMax SX manual-tranny could accomplish 182.1 kph at that same engine rev. At say, 70 kph econo-run, the SX needs only around 1345 rpm, while our Philippine-DMax is revving at around 1480 to 1492 rpm.

Now, with the more powerful engine plugged onto the "3.0 iTEQ VGS Turbo" and after all the preceding explanations, it still looks though that our Philippine "3.0 Ddi-iTEQ" sniffs fuel better hehe, granting we neglect climatic conditions in both countries (Philippines and Australia, where usually the Aussies conduct the test runs in the deserts, where the air is definitely dry, not dense, nor humid, unlike in the Philippines).

The latest "max-run" done by Isuzu Australia on the DMax manual-tranny (with 260 kg of camping gears) posted only 18.20 km per litre as against 24.26 km per litre posted by Isuzu Phils in October 2010. All it says is that they ran it close to posted speed-limit from the city of Melbourne to Cairns with Paris-Dakar Rally and Australian Safari Rally driver Bruce Garland and navigator Harry Suzuki at the helm.... JEEZE!!!!

In 2009, the 3.0-litre manual-tranny DMax SX posted 22.53 km per litre fuel mileage. Here is the max-run challenge link showing the summary of the 2009 to 2011 across all models of the DMax, from the SX to the LS to the LS X-Runner model
    http://www.isuzuute.com.au/maxrun/max-run-journey.aspx

Nonetheless, i still like to have the "3.0 iTEQ VGS Turbo", whether the LS or SX, doesn't matter haha!
....It would be interesting to see how the Pinoys would fare in econo-run when this model finally arrives here....

hi guys. sportivo 2007 m/t owner here. i learned a lot reading all the posts here. bigla ako nagka interest of checking the fc of my van. dati kasi im in the notion na mas matipid ang gas since mas mahaba ang tinatakbo nia per km/l. but upon reading your posts, hindi pala. halos parehas lang ang tinatakbo ng diesel and gas ang only difference is yung price ng crude oil. sweet talk lang pala ng mga ahente yung halos 23 km/l. pang highway driving lang pala ito. hindi siya applicable in real life dahil most owners ginagamit ang van sa city driving and less sa highway. anyways, nagpa full tank ako as in punong puno sia. umabot ng 43.8 liters nasa 1861 ang binayaran ko., my dilemma is next week magmamahal na daw ang diesel. pano ako makakakuha ng accurate information ng fc ko kung ang price ng diesel nuon ay nasa 42.80 lang and magmamahal ng 0.70 cents this week. tulong naman jan mga bro pano ako macocompute ito. thanks
