I was connected and emailing since 1989. Me and my friend put up a bulletin board service using a software called Opus and it was connected to the Fidonet, a prelude to the internet. We could download software also back then using a 2400mbps modem.
Created my Yahoo ID back in 1995.

Sometime in the mid 90s when the company I worked for decided to use email instead of fax as means of communications. I still remember upgrading to a 56Kbs modem years later and was amazed by how fast it was

1996 or 97 yata ako. mga instructors namin mga eng eng pa sa internet nun.
nagpagawa ng research - di nila alam na puro copy paste lang yung sa ken. :D
then around 19999 or 2000, nag-OJT ako sa Moscom dati.
big time ka pa nun pag naka-56kbps modem ka
sa bahay.
then nauso yung mga prepaid cards - was working on an ISP around 2001 - yun
yata peak period nung mga dialup subsscriptions.
after that - pinatay na ng DSL yung mga dialup subscriptions.
antanda ko na pala... :D

Hi, I'm a newbie here. Just got my driver's license last week.
Ako, circa 1995 or 1996 siguro. :ninja:
Pacific Internet ata tapos Netscape yung browser ko nun.Last edited by vinj; August 27th, 2013 at 05:10 PM.

I remember my first modem was a borrowed one. It was a 2,400 baud internal modem. No internet then yet but lots of BBS then (FIDONET, etc) Later I got 14,400 baud external modem and then 28,800 baud. I even experimented with "shotgun" technology which uses TWO 28.8k modems at the same time to double the transmit and receive data rates, effectively running at 57.6kbaud when both modems connects at full speed with the internet provider. Downside, needs two phone lines which means I have to be doubly sure no one picks up the phone which i am online

1996. Hijacked the only connection sa dorm because the guy doing research on it was out for summer vacation. As in literally nilipat namin ang coax from ground floor to 3rd floor via the balcony. Got on IRC and ICQ and tinuruan pa kami ng netiquette ng mga pre-teens (kuno). No hanky-panky though. Mas mabilis maghanap ng pr0n sa ilalim ng mga mattress kesa mag-load ng isang picture
That was the time na puno/mabagal ang yahoo.com kaya yahoo.ca ang email ko.
