my suggestion as ive been using wi-fi,

No1 - -- the best thing to do to protect your privacy is by not broadcasting your SSID, for that reason you and you alone knows your SSID so youre the only one who can access that SSID as u are the only one knows the name.

no.2 --- use the most secure code - WPSK i think, theres 4 different kinds of security- it uses hexadecimals.

no3--- for more security, go to your wireless configurationoptions. theres a part in where you enter MAC address. this way only a certain MAC address will allow the computer/laptop to access router to access internet. to find your MAC address. start-run- from run command-->type "CMD" -->the command prompt will come out--> type "ipconfig /all" all info will come out --->look for "physical address" it will have hexadecimal consisting of 16 digit with"-" spacing. thats what you type in MAC address on your router configuration. this enables your computer to securely connect to the router/internet. it will not allow other to get into your wi-fi connection as it only recognises the recorded MAC address. this will work even though they can "see" your SSID (name of the router - default name "brand name") they cant access your wi-fi as you alone knows the username/pw to access the router configuration. you need to add others MAC address if you want them to connect. MAC address is unique to all computers. same as IP address.
