cant seem to find the post on this.
i bought a d-link 54g wireless router.
how do i secure it so that people in my neighborhood can't have access to it.
tried the instruction on adding WEP code or something, ayaw eh.
mga techie guru, help naman.

October 22nd, 2007 08:38 PM #2for linksys you can access it via your browser. use 192.168.1.1 then after you've entered the setup password you can enter the setup menu. you can now set wireless security using either wpa or wep or whatever protocol you have. save settings after

Just don't use WEP unless ang mga katabi mo mga oldies.. Gamitin mo WPA/PSK.

October 29th, 2007 11:46 AM #5WEP is still better than no encryption though. Usually, upgradeable naman ang firmware ng mga wireless routers and cards, so if WPA support is not there, just check the vendor's website for updated drivers.

You can use MAC Address filtering.
For the MAC Address, check your wireless adapter's MAC addresses and add it in the router's list of Permitted MAC Addresses.

WPA2 na lang kung puwede, and use AES para walang masyadong slowdown.
