Hopefully hindi mag fade ung frame due to acidic perspirations.

Mine costs 7K (naka sale pa yun) Silhouette Model 7378 with Polycarbonate, Multicoated, Hi- Index lenses (2,5K). Very light. Pang Office.

I have another pair which is a Rudy Project Tretoky (7K) with a tinted, polycarbonate, Multicoated, Hi - index lens (2K) - A tad heavier, but very cool. Pang weekend and Outdoors.

I did have transition lenses before, but since they tend to be more expensive and often comes in 'plastic' which are brittle (I experienced them getting broken...very dangerous) and more prone to scratches..kaya I don't buy them anymore.
The price in my post was for the lenses. My silhouette frame also cost around 7K.

sorry if this has been discussed before... A friend told me to visit Quiapo for my next prescription glasses.

any specific shop you can recommend?

and does anyone know if they carry Transitions Drivewear? (or maybe an alternative)

You don't need to go to Quiapo. Just go to the nearest market to your place and ask around for their prices and specs. But if you really want to try Quiapo, don't visit the big stores on the main streets. Look for those shops tucked away in the farthest corners to get the best prices.

Tried Quiapo, for branded lenses, similar prices lang with the malls. You just need to haggle with the mall shops.

Mas madami lang options for cheaper frames and lenses sa Quiapo. But if you're particular with brands of lenses and frames, then just go to your nearest optical shop.

If you mean photochromic lenses (the ones that turn dark with UV rays), these are typically around 2.5k at a mall optical shop but you would have to order ahead though.

Hidalgo has these in stock, so no waiting necessary. Not sure about the price, though, maybe about 500 pesos cheaper?
