Is there a 2000 series also for ryzen 7? Not a techie, I just assumed na it gets better, as the first number gets higher, so I googled and found that minimum recommended specs right now is ryzen 5, never even bothered with the 3500u, is this what they call the clock speed?

July 21st, 2020 10:55 PM #280Ryzen 5 is the mid-range, 3500U falls in this series.
First digit denotes generation. Second is for hierarchy in the range where 5 is mid-range, 7 is high-end, there's even 9 for top of the line. Letters at the end denote intended usage. U is ultra-low power, H is high-performance for laptops, X is extreme performance usually reserved for desktops.
So the 3500U is the third-gen Ryzen 5 series, mid-range model meant for ultra-low power usage in laptops. A 3950X on the other hand is the top of the line extreme performance model.
