Yan yung Bayantel Span.

I believe this is what they call SPAN.
I looked into it before but coverage was VERY limited to certain far flung areas.
No new service areas as of yet.
The one from Globe, Speak 'n' Surf has better coverage and comes with a DSL line to boot.
I have a friend who uses it and swears by it.
He brings around the big unit and gets a laugh from people who stare.
You can also send SMS with it since it has an LCD screen.
I think I'll go with Speak 'n' Surf when the time comes

i called my friend earlier who works with bayantel on this.
she will be lending me a unit for a week so i can test it at our house so i will give everyone feedback here on how it went.
per my friend, the monthly subscription cost is 640 pesos+VAT. the cost of th e handset varies. the desktop unit costs 1495-1999, and the mobile unit costs from 3495 to 8600. siguro depending on the features.
you have to buy the handset upon subscription so sa iyo na yun.
i have to disconnect din kasi our PLDT landline sa house dahil once a week, four days lang sya nagkakaroon ng dial tone, tapos nagbabayad ako ng 800++ excluding VAT per month.

Naku Bro, totoo yan.
