May 30th, 2021 07:25 AM #4i like headphones that cover the entire ear. i haven't seen one yet in the market.
the ones in the market, they cover only part of my ears, and compress the rest against the skull. after some time, sumasakit the ears.
the frames of my glasses makes it worse.

Just here to give credit and praise to my ultimate budget headphones - the Koss Porta Pro. I bought this initially to pair with my LG V10 to be able to utilize its 32-bit Quad HiFi DAC. With this phone the high quality DAC will only be triggered if you use a high impedance headphone with 50 ohms or greater. With my current LG V20, most headphones will now switch on the HiFi DAC. This had been my workhorse prior to the pandemic and really saw extended use during the lockdown. For better than 6 months, I have been using this HP for 12 hours or so per day, 7 days a week. It's that comfortable, even when the foam got so thin. Salamat Shopee for the replacement foams.
I have with me probably a dozen or so headphones, from the circumaural ones like the Audio Technica ATH-M50, Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, Sony MDR-7506, Goldring DR-150 and an AKG inspired Superlux HD681 to the supra-aural types like the Grado SR-60, the Sennheiser PX-100 and its brother the PX100-II. Then there's the Sony MDR-XB30EX in-ear headphones and its more mature sibling the Sony MDR-XB90EX. There's also several Sennheiser MX400 earphones I got as promo items. May mga low cost in-ears pa which are Egghead or headphone forum's flavor of the month of which most I have gifted away already.
Most would probably have the ATH-M50 as their first really serious headphone. But I really haven't quite enjoyed this HP due to its sucked out mids.
My top 3 in this collection would probably be the Sony MDR-XB90EX before one of the channels gave up. Its bass is just so satisfying without drowning the mids and highs. It was comfortable but after that I sort of weaned off in-ears already. Then it's the Sony MDR-7506. I just really like listening to live concerts on you tube with it at really loud levels para feel mo talaga yung atmosphere ng "almost being there". But as I've said, I have rested most of them and have been enjoying the Koss Porta Pro as an all rounder. It may not have the most clarity, or the deepest rumbling bass but you'll still hear most or all of what's in the music. Comfortable pa gamitin for long periods both physically and aurally as the sound is non-fatiguing.

My son loves the Porta too and is paired with the V20. Same reason as you, to maximize DAC of LG phones. The pads were replaced already though with Geekria.
Gifted him with Sennheiser HD4.50SE as an upgrade with a better ear pad too. Forgot the one he asked for.
