Brent edges toward $113; U.S. crude boosted by pipeline news | Reuters

(Reuters) - Brent crude climbed towards $113 a barrel on Wednesday, while the U.S. benchmark rose more than $1 to a five-week high after news of the scheduled start of a key pipeline helping to relieve a supply bottleneck at the country's main oil storage hub.

U.S. oil built on a more than $2 jump in the previous session, after TransCanada Corp (TRP.TO) said it would begin operations at its Keystone XL pipeline on January 3.

The launch will allow rising inventories at the Cushing, Oklahoma oil hub to move to the U.S. Gulf Coast, where a large share of the country's refining capacity is concentrated.

nag abot na sa P44 to 1 USD ang palitan, nag taas pa intl crude oil prices huhuhuhuhuh...

Shell zaragosa nueva ecija, ron91 (unleaded) 47.30, diesel kukang na 43pesos lang.

Sir, just curious. During the height of EDSA 2, the $ shoot up to 56+ and until the first few years of GMA was hovering at P50. Yet the basic commodities & practically everything, prices went up from then up to now that the $ is at 43-44 level. So, my question is, is it really the strength of the $ that's cause prices to go up or just being used as an excuse by scrupulous businesses ?
