grabe, patay na patay ang tourism sa mindanao. arrivals of visitors went down daw by 90%

in fact, i just saw a video of a european vlogger going to camiguin island last week and the ferry he rode in was empty. even the usually busy bus terminal in bilangoan, where you buy the tickets for the roro ride to camiguin island, was not as populated as it usually is.

i remember when i was there a week before the martial law lock down, the line in front of the ticket booth for the sea crossing was kilometric. nowadays it looks like queueing is no longer necessary because there are no people to ferry across.

kawawa naman ang mga negosyante sa mindanao. dati rati you'd be hardpressed to see a foreign face in mindanao. ngayon, even the locals are avoiding the whole of mindanao island like the plague considering the marawi conflict is pretty much an isolated case

Prior to Marawi, a lot of people were making not so subtle snipes at "Imperial Manila' not investing in Manila.

Well, sa nangyayari ngayon, is it really any mystery? What idiot would invest millions kung nagbabarilan mga tao dyan?

Maybe what you mean is "imperial manila not investing in Mindanao"?

Kahit dito Palawan bagsak tourism. Dami takot due to the bad press about the possibility of terror attacks in UR and El Nido. tsk tsk

Gustong-gusto naman ng mga taga mindanao ang Martial Law so ok lang yan basta ba tuloy lang ang selfie nila katabi ang military.

Duterte: I’m ready to die for Marawi

Posted on Wednesday Jul 12th at 8:00pm

    By Christina Mendez

MANILA, Philippines - President Duterte is ready to die for the liberation of Marawi City from the Islamic State (IS)-inspired Maute terror group as he plans to enter the battle zone anew after two failed attempts in recent weeks.

Duterte said he wanted to personally boost the morale of soldiers in Marawi about one and a half months after he declared martial law and suspended the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus when Maute terrorists attacked the city last May 23.

“Since they said we came here to die, when I get there and they ask me, ‘Mayor, why are you here? I will tell them I came here also to die,” he said in English and Filipino during the 26th anniversary celebration of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City yesterday.

^the soldiers didnt come to marawi to die, they went there to fight TERRORISM hoping theyll survive it for their loved ones.

Should they die in the process then they embrace their fate, thats the nobility in the heart of every soldier

Duterte, however is all rhetoric and showmanship, trying hard to don a combat gear, but failing to reach the thick of the fight is the height of HYPOCRICY

If the marines are the FIRST to fight, who do you expect to be the LAST to fight in marawi?

Thats the notion duterte is trying hard to evade

para 53 days pa lang eh. kaya down ang tourism coz rainy season and pasukan season. tourism always drops during Jun to Aug (ghost month). dito nga sa metro, down din ang dine in eh. tignan nyo pages feed nyo sa FB, lahat na lang food establishments may promo. Ramen Nagi at 175 per bowl, Pizza hut at 156 large pizza and Papa Johns tatlong pizza for P450

it's high time that food prices go down, matagal na bumaba ang presyo ng gasolina pero food prices pilit na pinatataas ng greedy businessmen.
