Politicking in the works...
EXCLUSIVE REPORT by BM:
SARA-BBM tandem talks underway | announcement by Oct. 7
There is now an ongoing negotiation between the camps of Davao City mayor Inday Sara Duterte and former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. to forge a formidable tandem and ensure a victory for the administration in the May 9, 2022 elections, a source with access to the talks revealed.
“Yes, there was a meeting a few nights ago between Senator Imee (Marcos) and BBM, on the one hand, and Mike Acebedo Lopez, who is known to be one of Mayor Sara’s closest advisers,” the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told me.
I reached out to my source to comment on the viral photograph showing Senator Imee gesturing with a clenched fist on her right hand and a victory sign with her left fingers while an amused BBM was watching. The third person in the photograph wearing a facemask was identified by my source as Lopez.
The source declined to provide the date and place for the meeting to avoid being “burned out”. But upon checking, this meeting took place in the evening of Sept. 28, 2021 at the condominium of Lopez on Ayala Ave., Makati City.
My source said this meeting happened just a night before BBM was scheduled to make his formal announcement for his candidacy as President and the blessing of his national campaign headquarters. It was Senator Imee who brokered the meeting.
After this meeting , BBM cancelled the announcement of his candidacy to await further developments in the next few days, the source said.
Lopez is currently a Commissioner of the Cebu Port Authority and a prominent blogger. He is described as the “right hand man” of Mayor Sara.
On Sept. 29, Lilion, Cebu municipal mayor Christina Garcia-Frasco published a video to convey the gratitude of Mayor Sara for the continued support shown to her by Filipinos as reflected in the Pulse Asia poll survey conducted on Sept. 6 to 11, 2021. When I watched this, I immediately concluded this was a prelude to a change of plans for Mayor Sara, who had earlier said she was seeking re-election as City Mayor of Davao.
Both camps are now deep with their discussions on forging a unity ticket for the “solid north” and “solid south”. Mayor Sara got 20% in the Pulse Asia survey. BBM was second with 15%. The most logical thing to do is merge their forces to clinch the victory.
Part of the discussions include long-term plans for the Senate and House, according to my source.
Under this agreement, Senator Imee will get the endorsement of the next President to become the next Senate President. Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is reportedly making a comeback as Congresswoman of the 2nd district of Pampanga and will be groomed to retake the Speakership of the House of Representatives. Ex-PGMA held that position from 2010 to 2019. She was Speaker from 2018-2019.
My source said Mayor Sara will take a leave of absence from her job as local chief executive to be able to finalize the plans with BBM on Oct. 5 to 8.

October 2nd, 2021 10:01 PM #754MGA KAIBIGAN, ALALAHANIN NA PWEDENG MIND-GAME O PANLILITO LAMANG ANG MGA PRONOUNCEMENTS NG WITHDRAWAL NA NARIRINIG NYO NGAYON
By Maria Lourdes Sereno

Hopefully they abolish that rule/law regarding substitution. Withdrawal pwede pa but not substitution. But knowing these politicians, they won't do that since it serves their interests.

Former foreign secretary Roberto “Bobby” R. Romulo is supposed to take things easy for health reasons. He has even suspended his columns in The Philippine STAR until November. But he just had to send out an urgent appeal to his fellow members of the business community. Here it is:
“This letter is about the sad plight of our country under the presidency of Duterte which has been characterized by incompetence, brutality, corruption, incivility, abuse of power and dishonesty.
“In a span of five years, he has reversed the gains that the Aquino presidency has bequeathed him – a robust economy, a healthy balance sheet, shrinking poverty levels, the confidence of foreign investors, international credit rating agencies and corruption ranking institutions, and the respect of other countries.
“He has squandered the weight of global public opinion in our favor following the ruling of the UN arbitration court invalidating China’s claim on the South China Sea by meekly standing by while she continues encroaching on our territory and denying our fishermen access to traditional fishing grounds.
“His brutal implementation of his anti-drug war has caused the lives of thousands with little success to show for it.
“His incompetent management of the pandemic resulted in unnecessary deaths and impoverished the poor even more.
“The simplicity, dignity, moral values and respect for democratic ideals that the under-appreciated Noynoy Aquino brought stands in stark contrast to Duterte.
“Do we really want six more years of this dark age in our history? Six more years of Harry Roque and Jose Calida?
“The next election will be fought in cyberspace – be it the social media trolls or even outright digital shenanigans by the side that has the means to do so or is friendly with those who have. Truth is the counter weapon of choice against those who will bend it to change the narrative.
“I strongly suggest that you highlight Aquino legacies to your family, friends and acquaintances. If possible, provide moral and financial support to those who are in social media. It is my understanding that there are trolls on our side but regrettably weak in comparison to Duterte trolls.
“Do not put priority on the ‘winnability’ of a candidate but rather on someone who will bring back competence, dignity, civility and true love of country and her people. Together we can make that candidate winnable. But do not wait for that individual to emerge. Our primary objective now is to show our countrymen that Duterte and his anointed are unacceptable.
“At the age of 82, I assure you I have no personal agenda, political or otherwise. In truth, it is my fervent prayer for the return of democracy and its institutions, which the incumbent has trampled.
“Thank you for the messages and prayers. It is my hope that Divine Intervention will assist me in my medical challenge even as I devoutly pray that HE will bring enlightenment to our citizenry that will lead to the political demise of the incumbent President and his allies.”
