May 28th, 2003 07:48 AM #12As long as you have a manual locking hub on your front diffs, its ok to shift to 4 LOW, in this form you are basically running 2wd low gear, this setting is ideal when towing on a hard pavement or there is strong water current resistance when running in water.
REMEMBER!!! ONLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE MANUAL LOCKING HUBS ON THIER VEHICLES

May 28th, 2003 09:18 AM #14i sure am also,
4x4 pa nga ako kanina, one car got stuck (by the way sa pampanga ito, dami kasing ginagawang roads dito eh) i was about to pull him, but his rescue came, but he's blocking the way, casually shift my little shifter 4H and as they say "make your own road "

it is not advisable to use 4L on auto equipped vehicles. even if you dont make a turn the differences in tire pressure, tire wear thus there will be differences in the height of the tire will still bring some binding in your drivetrain. even if the pavement is wet the tires will still grip the pavement. but if there is sand, rocks, mud on the pavement then it is ok because this will permit slipping of the tires.
